OVC 2016 Meet Report-Girls

Post by noreply66 »

Eight team took part with three teams Gallipolis, Ironton and Portsmouth from the SEOAL. Fairland started out fast and really never looked back. Gallipolis would hang tough but the field events hurt them big time. Portsmouth and Dawson-Bryant looked good with both scoring near 90 points

Fairland

They had four first and scored in every event. They also had seven events where they had two girls get points. What really stands out with this team is all their points were scored by underclassmen.

Gallipolis

This team had six girls win 1st place and they scored in fourteen events. Only three seniors scored. The Gallia girls had 2 girls score in ten events. Three field event didn't bring any points.

Portsmouth

They scored in 16 events with four first place finishes. Shipley brought in 40 points with the other point coming from the middle to lower field. Only three seniors scored.

Dawson-Bryant

Team and two 1st and scored in 13 events. Only one senior scored points. Distant event hurt this team.

Chesapeake

had one 1st place. No seniors scored in the eight events they scored in. Some relays,Field and distant events hurt.

Rock Hill

Scored in 10 events but most of the points came from the middle and lower field. Had some problems with hurdles, field and sprints. Only one senior scored.

South Point

One senior scored out of the eight events they scored in. Points came from the lower to middle eight. Distant.Hurdles and relays didn't bring many points.

Ironton

No seniors brought in points for this team out of 9 events where they scored. Sprints and field events were the sore spots here.

Overall this is a real young league with a lot of freshmen. The OVC will put up a lot of point in any meet next year.
