Re: HANG ON! OHSAA To Move State Football Championships To Massillon
It seems probable that Massillon offered free usage of their stadium. Most schools would do so in order for their team to play at home for a state title. OHSAA makes more money. Massillon gets a real edge on a state title for their school. A win-win. LOL Not sure why Ironton has agreed to this. Exp...

Re: HANG ON! OHSAA To Move State Football Championships To Massillon
Ridiculous location. Why not switch it up and move the games to Jackson? Perish the thought of NEO teams traveling. Smh Talk to OHSAA. We will come wherever Oh I know Kirtland will travel. ( Ironton & Kirtland should schedule at least one home & away series for reg season just cause) but as...

Re: HANG ON! OHSAA To Move State Football Championships To Massillon
Akron Hoban and Massillon saved the state finals. The Kneelers in central ohio screwed this up. Hopefully Desales gets pounded too What is a "kneeler" exactly? Pick Central knelt when the national anthem was played last week in the D1 final......and Raider has no love for the DeSales, Har...

Re: Will Dewine Shut Down the Champioships?
Ironton goes from a 2 hour drive to a 4 1/2 hour drive and an overnight stay. Kirtland is back to a 1 hour drive. The meeting probably started out: Well, gentlemen since NEO does have 1 team in each of the final games in all divisions and this is about protecting all involved in this year of covid ...

Re: HANG ON! OHSAA To Move State Football Championships To Massillon
If for covid reasons, Franklin County has 53 cases a day per 100,000 people and Stark County 59 cases per day per 100,000. This is truly the year of the Idiot. Unbelievable doing this one day prior to games. The Shepherd in the governors mansion is truly off his rocker along with the county officials.

Re: Ironton vs Kirtland State Championship
Yeah. Why not just rewrite the entire offense this week? My take on this is IHS has done pretty well dancing with the girl they brought. If you tweak anything it might be something on one play. Otherwise you lose execution. Execution is what put them in this game in the first place. try to remember...

Re: Ironton vs Kirtland State Championship
They're gonna have to use a few slip screens, tunnel screens, dump passes, short sideline outs, button hooks , short crossing routes and slants or a trick halfback pass or double reverse, something to offset that Kirtland defense. I'd be very surprised to see a few of these but you gotta throw some...

Re: 2021 MVL Schedule
I like the out of conference scheduling of Bloom-Carroll, Garaway, West Holmes, Licking Valley, Alder, Ashland and Zanesville for the upper division. All those will help come playoff time. The jury is still out on Athens, Logan and Licking Heights but you never know.

WK #13/STATE FINAL GAMES (TV, RADIO/AUDIO STREAMING)
Maybe it's a good omen. Only 2 teams from all of Southern Ohio border to border (WV-IN) made it to the finals this year and one already has the trophy at their school. Hopefully, the other team can bring home the gold also. " It ain't over 'til it's over." - Yogi Berra http://yappi.com/for...

Re: CATHOLIC CHAMPS 2020 ? (38.5% OF FIELD LEFT)
As in years past Hoban, DeSales, Lake Catholic and JFK are in the finals again And the exact same can be said for public schools Pickerington Central, Massillon, Chardon, Van Wert, Ironton, Kirtland, Coldwater and New Middletown Springfield Over the 48 years since the inception of OHSAA football pl...

As in years past Hoban, DeSales, Lake Catholic and JFK are in the finals again trying to join Xavier as champs. Thank goodness for the MAC in the lower divisions over the decades.

Re: Ironton vs Kirtland State Championship
I would like a Tiger win but Ohio State loses a lot more big games than Kirtland. Hornets by 17 unless Ironton can find any type of passing game to offset the run and 3 turnovers like tonight would not bode well next week. Just my honest opinion after watching all the playoff games the past few weeks.

Re: Carrico vs Kiner ( Ironton/Roger Bacon) who finishes with more rushing yards?
Kiner should have unless he gets banged up early but even if not, I believe the Bacon QB only has a little over 1,000 yd passing and 13 td's on the year as it wasn't needed but he might have to open it up and he has a couple of good wr's . This should be interesting.

Re: Southeast District Player of the Year?
Congrats to the young man !!!!! Each division has their own POY in the District. He won both in D5 and he is the best player overall in the area (all divisions) but his forte is defense and the Offensive POY in other divisions, especially Shanks @ Waverly in D4 and Munyan @ Sheridan in D3 would be i...

Re: D5 State Semi Finals - Ironton vs Roger Bacon
Come'on Tigers. You and Bloom-Carroll gotta represent tonight and keep these other 2 Catholic schools out of the title games. They already have the D1 title and are playing in the finals in D2, D3 and D7. SEO has a chance to keep'em out of D4 and D5. Go Tigers, Go Bulldogs !!!!!
