Re: OVC WK7 Rock Hill @ Ironton
The one thing I liked from last night was players from each side tackling each other or knocking someone down and then offering a hand to help them up. Good sportsmanship shown in this game.

Re: WK3 (1-1) South Gallia @ (1-1) Trimble
I am a bit confused. Isn't this South Gallia and Trimble? Where does Waverly fit in?waverlytiger wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 8:02 am I'll take Waverly fairly easily in this one. Jones and Anterenda will be too much to handle for the Tomcats. Not to mention the huge offensive line the Tigers have. Dominating D too. Won't be much of a game

I think the transfer rules are trying to help eliminate recruiting the "super teams".

Question for soccer official or someone in the know
Is there a rule or OHSAA regulation against players chewing gum in a soccer match? A referee made my daughter spit out her gum in a game, that's why I ask.

Re: Boys D4 District outlook/breakdown
Highflyer--the obvious solution is to join a league. League teams will stick together--that's a proven fact. I agree, but with St. Joe's size only two conferences seem logical, the small divisions of the TVC and SOC. TVC isn't a good fit, though, due to excessive travel. South Gallia is the closest...

SJ got 3 seed and Eastern Meigs got the 6. I agree, it was a tough draw. Eastern Meigs is always a tough out in the tourney. Good Luck to Eastern Meigs.

Re: Eastern( Reedsville ) @ Ironton St. Joe
All I'm saying is how to the "smallest schools" compete? What do they do if they don't recruit? Is it a pope thing? A Pope thing? Playing the pope card, now that's funny. Nothing like someone pulling out a defamatory religious slam. Just goes to show the class or should I say lack of clas...

And there the truth comes out; onthefence, doesn't like private schools at all and thinks by the nature of their existence and the parent's ability to pay (more specifically his parents inability to afford him a private school egemecation), private schooling equals recruiting. Complete and utter hog...

Re: Eastern( Reedsville ) @ Ironton St. Joe
By my calculation, that's 6/7 that are as homegrown as you can get. Holy Family kids have been coming to SJ since 1987. 27 years. 27!!! Those two aren't recruits and home grown by anyone's (except your) standards. Some high schools, public and private, have more than one feeder junior high program. ...

Ironton St Joe has really recruited themselves a good team. Our own Hunington St. Joe. Yeah! I would love to know your definition of recruiting, onthefence. Of the 7 girls that played last night for SJ, three have been together since Kindergarten, one moved back to town with her parents in 2nd grad...

onthefence quit crying. St Joe is very small and I know for sure the group they have now has been together for years . Actually they took quite a few lumps growing up so quit raining on their success . esp since you dont know what you are talking about. You said a mouthful, ManitouDan. Two thumbs u...

Lightle04, Do you know if Booker played tonight for ISJ? She was injured last week but was not sure to what extent. According to Ironton Tribune article for the game, Booker did not play. It was mentioned in article and she wasn't listed in the box score. Plus, the score was 47-42, not 44-42. Gotta...

Re: Rock Hill @ Chesapeake
A stern warning from the officials, plus a reminder that this was still a school activity in which misconduct could bring about discipline from the school administrators, mighta deterred the players from starting a brawl.. I have been an OHSAA official for over 25 years and stern warnings just don'...
