Re: SOC 2 talk. Any surprising teams?

1. Burg: champs until somebody takes it from them. 2. Waverly: know they can score points...can their defense stop good teams? 3. Minford: still have best player in league and some other playmakers back. 4. Valley: year away from competing for league crown. 5. West: 2 years away from being near top...

Re: SOC 2 talk. Any surprising teams?

Burg won’t be better Yes, They will. No way Burg replaces all those seniors and will be better. Burg had all that depth last year but if you watch any of there games from last year they had a lot of players going both ways and most of them were seniors. 7-3 at best 6-4 a reality. Lol. Burg won’t be...

Re: SOC 2 talk. Any surprising teams?

Waverly had their best team last year and didn’t pull it off. Burg will be better this year. I’ve been around the program a long time. Last year’s team outside of Matthews wasn’t a very good team. Their other best player left and horsley was hurt. I agree Waverly is the best equipped to take burg b...

Re: SOC 2 talk. Any surprising teams?

Waverly returns the most talent. It's theirs to loose. Wheelersburg lost alot. 4 linemen, Horsely, and Mathews. I believe Miller goes to quarterback and Swords to tailback and run a more traditional offense. They will always be competitive but their talent level isn't what it has been. Waverly had ...

Re: SOC 2 talk. Any surprising teams?

Minford will have a couple of playmakers but I wonder about their line and depth. Burg will be a little better overall this year but won't have the "go to guy" West is probably a year or two away Waverly will be like a minford. Northwest and Oak Hill, Im not sure of. Burg won’t be better ...

Lol. You can’t be serious. We’d be still under strict quarantine with a democrat. Trump is getting blamed for not shutting it down sooner.

Re: Reasons why ARN-ton is the greatest football team ever!

They were probably one size up from Burg in the past, not enough to make that much of a difference. The Tigers even played div.1 teams once in awhile when they were an independent. With Burgs paddycake schedule they should have a winning record.Their a good program. But comparing win % ,you can’t do it...

Re: Reasons why ARN-ton is the greatest football team ever!

Ironton played the big boys. With the program they are developing now, they could do it again soon. The Burg rarely played anyone, except when they had to,vis a vis the playoffs.Look at each teams schedule. You are comparing apples and oranges. Lol. You think? Ironton was at least a division ahea...

Re: Reasons why ARN-ton is the greatest football team ever!

A lot of miles? Not too many. You would have to be an idiot not to include Ed Miller, Larry Hall, and Rob Woodward. I'm gonna say these 3 guys would give them a run for their money. We’re they all on the same Staff together? I think that may have been the point. I think you may be on to something o...

Re: Consolidation is about to get real

Social Distancing may be keeping us from pushing 200,000 and not 100,000. Right now the Columbus area has more deaths and cases than anyone. After that it is the Cleveland area followed by Cincinnati. The heaver the area is populated the more cases. Less populated means the people are distancing be...

Burg has the best winning percentage of any southern Ohio team. So they win more of their games. :)

Re: Ironton Tayden Carpenter QB #17 College Football Today

Go to YouTube and watch his highlights. I’ve seen him play and the assessment made by College Football Today is pretty accurate in my opinion. Highlights are the worst thing to assess on. I think development is the key here. Two things to look at 1. As he moves up, will he be able to continue being...

Re: Ironton Tayden Carpenter QB #17 College Football Today

Good teams can make a good qb look bad.omg,I gave the Burg a compliment.I knew I would go senile some day. :D He’s probably really good for his class. Playing jv as a freshman can be tougher. I’d say he will be a good player. I hope he’s as good as advertised but right now it’s hard to calibrate th...

Re: Ironton Tayden Carpenter QB #17 College Football Today

Pleasant I believe is a free agent, which means he was not drafted.Carpenter was the backup Qb as a freshman, but if you have seen him throw the ball plus the athlete that he is,you can understand the hype. Drafted, free agent...still up there. I’m sure he’s a good athlete, all the local schools have...

Re: Ironton Tayden Carpenter QB #17 College Football Today

Raven,I guess an offer to visit Penn State that Carter got means they don’t think he has any potential. The Carpenter kid is going to be special. If their families thought it could help them in the future ,good for them. These kids don’t need to pay money to get noticed.College football today or not. ...

Re: Steps to having a season (please no politics)

Artis this is not the flu. Again I say football is only a dream with less of 5 % of playing. With the opening up of things a more virulent 2 or 3 wave will ensue and things will go back locked down. Hope not but Indiana I believe will see huge increase in the spike of the virus. My question is do p...
