Re: Running Clock

It is a sticky situation. Beat a team too bad and sub too much, too early, your starters don't get enough reps to prepare for playoffs. Sub too early, the opponent losing doesn't sub at all and their varsity runs all over the 2's and 3's and makes the coach put in starters and risks getting someone ...

Re: (3-3) Portsmouth @ (3-3) Chesapeake

I see this one being whomever scores last wins. Chesapeake's offense is potent enough to score against a suspect Portsmouth defense at will and I think Portsmouth's Parker could have a field day since Ironton ran pretty much at will with 350 yards on the ground yards last week.

Re: OVC Predictions

Wowzers, back to back bold predictions from allamericanironman and buckeyenation. Stomping a mud hole in, on and all over Ironton and Ironton not good enough to hang with Gallia. Looks like good bulletin board material to me.

Re: WEEK 7 -- 4-2 IRONTON @ 2-4 ROCK HILL. WHAT SAY YA'LL HERE.

This is the Super Bowl for Rock Hill. I don't believe in coincidence, therefore I believe it was planned that Rock Hill is inducting their first ever class of its Hall of Fame to incite and fire up the Tribe. I see Rock Hill coming out with an out of the norm play to start the game (reverse, bootleg...

Re: Week 7: Gallia Academy @ Coal Grove

Another must win for Coal Grove to keep playoff and league title hopes alive. Is this a trap game for Gallia Academy? I hate to do it, but GA in a barnburner, high scoring close affair. 41-39.

I see Green winning this one and possibly running the table until week 10, then I seeing it all come crashing down.

Re: Question about School not offering a Sport

Mattash, in your example I think a student attending St. Joe could play football in the district where they reside, not automatically Ironton. If they lived in the Rock Hill district I think they could play for Rock Hill, but not Ironton. You are correct. It is their district of residence. Plus, th...

Re: Portsmouth (3-2) @ Coal Grove (3-2)

This is a game of two teams who cannot afford another conference loss. I see this being a high scoring affair. Coal Grove in a nail biter, 34-32.

Not always. At one time, I know they had upwards of 6-7 in the 70’s and early 80’s. It dropped over time to the level it is now.

What have we created?

I have watched upwards of 25 basketball games so far this year. Boys, girls, high school and junior high. Does anyone commit a foul? Commit traveling? Not by the reactions of the player getting whistled. It is way, way fewer that think they are innocent of every foul and perfect on every drive than ...

With all games on Friday, you can eliminate Nelsonville as a host site as long as their football team is still in playoffs.

Re: Portsmouth(42) @ (35)Ironton

I’ve never seen so many grown adults that want to see the failure of young men. It’s pretty pathetic! So proud of the way the boys came back from a dismal score to win. Even though they were playing a team that is not very good or successful, they stepped in and did their job! The future of these b...

Re: RD2 (10-1) Coal Grove v (11-0) Southeastern

Coal Grove has nice bend but not break defense. I take Hornets in one td win.

This game could have 4 or 5 sites depending on who applies, Jackson, Oak Hill, Portsmouth, Valley or Waverly. All nice venues and all turf.
