Re: Holden and Blevins - District POY

The PDT named all Scioto county members of boys all-district team, what about the rest of the all-district team?

Re: St joe. baseball

I heard st joe is suppose to be tough. Coming of a 15-4 year with the addition of A very solid third baseman and plus .500 clean up hitter in Crabtree. Have a strong infield with shortstop Isaac Whaley who is as solid as they come. Other than that they are young. Only 2 seniors, just wonder how muc...

Re: Division IV Sectional @ Northwest

In my 20 years of caring about this sectional I can’t name 1 time the SHL/SHAC has bonded together to get their best matchup.....the SOC has done it 15x but can’t ever recall SHAC doing it. I can see your point and you're probably correct, but the SOC's teams are pretty much the tops (NB and Green)...

Re: Division IV Sectional @ Northwest

This sectional is a two horse race, Green and New Boston at 1 and 2, in no particular order. As said before, the SHAC four could make it interesting by trying to manipulate where Peebles, White Oak and Fairfield would fit in the middle to avoid each other and attempt to send as many teams to the con...

Re: Consolidation and when will it effect SE Ohio ????

Let’s not forget, some consolation hasn’t worked well in SE Ohio. They deconsolidated in Gallia County and formed South Gallia after some time and when Portsmouth East was going to close and go to Portsmouth schools, didn’t they keep open by becoming a charter school? South Gallia formed from South...

Re: JV Game cancelled Sat. Oct. 13 due to no available officials/referees

Suggesting coaches officiate? Highly frowned upon by the OHSAA to have non licensed officials doing member school games, even at junior high level. It was ok in the past, but not anymore, especially with the mandated concussion protocol and sudden cardiac arrest training. I believe there is a liabi...

In the immortal words of Coach Lee Corso, "Not so fast my friend." After Saturday's games were complete and with Bellaire's win, Bellaire leapfrogged from #5 to #3 in the region, dropping Ironton to #5.

Re: Marietta won’t let Dover band do halftime

I would say allowing the band to play is a courtesy and not a right. If there is a legit reason, so be it. At least, they let the band know in advance. That was the courteous thing to do. I've seen it where a band showed up and they wouldn't let them play. That was rude.

Re: WEEK 8 -- 4-3 COAL GROVE @ 5-2 IRONTON -- BORDER WAR SPECIAL

How does a clock not working affect the outcome of a game. The official time is kept on the field anyway. Not so fast my friend. FACT: The official time is not kept on the field unless the stadium clock malfunctions. If officials cheat, as being suggested on this thread, how easy would it be for an...
