Re: East District Coach wins number 600
And they at the reason Waterford petitioned and moved to the Southeast District when they joined the TVC lol Oh? What year was that? Lol, clearly 10 years before Waterford became a girls basketball power they had the foresight to know they’d need to change districts to avoid a team that hadn’t won ...

Re: School District Oddities and Trivia
Monroe County is very close to being in the company of Hocking and Vinton as being the only singular district counties, but a very small and sparsely populated portion of the district is Shenandoah. Monroe County has one school district, but three high schools - Monroe Central, River, and Beallsvil...

Re: Lets talk real basketball. kentucky wildcats.
Usual stuff with the young guys; really need to learn to play defense and be motivated to do so. Not a great shooting team either. Athleticism will win a lot of games against lesser opponents but I think they’re going to be in trouble in most of the big early games.

The difference between Waterford and Trimble is Trimble has sustainability. If you remember correctly Trimble won like close to 30 straight league games from 2012-15. This year is a rebuilding year with several sophomores playing, yet here they are, advancing to week 12 once again Again, I don’t kn...

Re: Senate league championship: John Hay 20 Rhodes 16
Was not aware such "championship" games still existed with the advent of the playoffs. In a way, pre playoff high school football was more enjoyable in the sense that rivalry games and conference play carried more importance than just qualifying for the playoffs today. It appears that to ...

That guy is from Sciotoville - see the other thread. The other guy posting stuff about East not being physical enough is from Fort Frye, Waterford’s rival. There are pretty much like 3 people from Waterford on this board.

Re: 2017 Waterford Wildcats
Ranked #2 and got beaten by a team ranked #7. I know its awesome to be on top for the 1st time in like 50 years or so... this is your 2nd season where you made it to the playoffs..which is great.. congratulations.. not taking anything away from what the boys did... What I'm trying to say is that 70...

Re: Is It Time for NCAA Division I 16 Team Playoff
I actually think a 6 team playoff would be best. 1 & 2 seed get a bye and 3-6 are "play in games." I think quality of competition between 1-6 is close but 7 & 8 is a stretch. Expanding by any number I'm fine with honestly, but I think too 6 would be very close ball games Agree. On...

Re: 2017 Waterford Wildcats
Max preps You do realize that MaxPreps is not even close to being a comprehensive list of anything? People have to report results & stats to MaxPreps and there are numerous schools that don’t care to do that. Those statistical “rankings” are based only on what has been reported directly to MaxP...

Quite a turnaround for Warren too; from 4 straight last-place SEOAL finishes all the way to no worse than 2nd place.SEOALLivesMatter wrote: ↑Fri Oct 27, 2017 11:34 amI agree, and they'll add another SEOAL title to their trophy case.

Re: Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
This is a classic case of Neanderthals vs. modern man. Unwilling to change and unbelieving of science. Here is a case where parents will vote with their feet to pull out their kids unless precautions are taken. You will have hard heads willing to shrink participation in order to maintain their test...

Re: Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
Not according to the American Pediatricians Delaying the introduction of tackling until a certain age may reduce the risk of injury for ages when tackling is prohibited, but this could lead to even higher rates of injury when tackling is later introduced if players have their first tackling experie...

Re: Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
It's very easy to use one's self (or an individual one knows) as an example and assume that is the standard... Example: I know a guy who played two years of midget football, two of junior high, four of high school, three of college, and nine of semi-pro. He's in his mid-40s, still lifts weights, ha...

I try to make one game every year. My daughter just started her freshman year at UK and unfortunately I’m out of the country this year. She has already secured tix for the first half of the season; I’m just hoping to have time to go to the LOLville game when I’m home over the holidays. Of course a F...

Bigdog - I find it interesting in a few articles I came across previously that since the NFL reduced practice contact, there’s been a school of thought that QBs are actually at more risk. The belief is that offensive linemen can’t appropriately develop the skills that they need without the real cont...

http://www.brain-injury-law-center.com/latest-news/head-injuries-rugby-vs-football/ I don't think that anybody would dispute that rugby is also rough on the old noggin, but that's kind of a tangent argument...
