Re: D III R12 Qtrs: #7 Jackson (10-0) at #2 Athens (10-0)

Regarding the polls..a team must be located north of I-70 first, and if below I-70, must be to the west of I-71 to be even considered for ranking in the top ten. Like Rodney said "I get no respect." I am sure most of you have been at Massilon Stadium at one time or another and seen the big...

Tigers need to play Tiger football. Quit dropping the pigskin, go all out and everything else will take care of itself.

I recall a good Jackson fullback from the late '70's. Brian Landrum.

Easiest way to settle this argument is on the field.

If the Tigers can keep the football from hitting the ground, this should be a good game. If fumblitis hits, could be a long ride home for the Tigers.

Re: D III R12 Qtrs: #7 Jackson (10-0) at #2 Athens (10-0)

I watched the Ironmen beat my alma mater, Ironton several weeks ago. It was a great game with Jackson coming out on top. One thing that is a rarety in Tanks Memorial Stadium is that the Tigers leave the field with a loss. I watched the game from the endzone with a few fellows from Jackson and enjoye...

Southeast Ohio

I realize I am just a waterboy here but I am curious to know if anyone has had the experience I have had with the northern elitists when it comes to sports. I graduated from Ironton in 1980 and attended Akron University on a football scholarship. I couldn't believe how uneducated many of the student...

Re: 2011 Jackson ironmen

Brian was a heck of a fullback. Even though we were rivals I could always appreciate the talents of a fellow fullback.

Re: 1979 Ironton state football championship ring

Balfour was the company that made the rings. I lost mine at Vesuvious in 1983 and my then wife had another made for our wedding anniversary in 1990. All she did was call the company and they made another. The ring has the players number and last name on the side of it. So if you really want one for ...

Re: Coach Triplett officially resigns at west

My best to Merle. I grew up around his family here in Ironton and can remember watching him play for the Tigers when I was a youngster. He has a nephew that is poised to be a good one this year at Ironton. Good luck Senators. I hope you continue your winning ways.
