Re: Burg Chillicothe

Chillicothe likely will be Wheelersburg's strongest regular season opponent, more so than Waverly or Minford, in terms of top to bottom depth, speed, and quickness. If the Pirates protect the ball and control the clock, they should prevail. No way...Waverly is much better than Chillicothe this year...

Re: Northwest at Valley

Is Valley going to move back down? Valley is the smallest school in SOC II by far. After yesterday's discussion on enrollment size I looked on OHSAA and they were only D-VI because of competitive balance numbers. The boys count is about the same as Symmes Valley. I don't see them moving honestly, b...

Re: Ohio State Off Season All Things (2020 Football Season Cancelled)

Do not look now, Ron Day and Ohio State no longer has the lead in recruiting rankings for 2021. Nick Saban at Alabama has recently received commitments from 9 of the top 100 rated high school players. This wiped out OSU's once insurmountable recruiting lead. The Bucks still can look forward to a his...

Re: Ohio State Off Season All Things (2020 Football Season Cancelled)

Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports reports that University of Louisville plans on having 18,000 fans at their football game. Ohio State and the other schools in the Big Ten are not playing football this 2020 fall season. Louisville is not that far from Columbus, where is the disconnect ? How could this happ...

Any football is better than no football and I for one am thankful that they are getting this opportunity this year.

Re: Granville at Waverly 08/28/20

Attendance thing is just dumb. I’d say you could do a decent amount more than 15% and could still be distant and wear your mask. There’s more people in some churches than what will be allowed at these games. But oh well. I know admin at Waverly are trying to come up with many ways to get more peopl...

Re: Burg radio or video this year

From the OHSAA: The OHSAA encourages media coverage of all games and working media members are not counted toward the capacity limits for spectators. Approval and placement of media members will be determined by the host school Athletic Director depending on the layout of the facility, including ho...

Re: 2020 Cincinnati Reds

Honestly even in a normal year, the Reds front office does not care about winning. They get paid their salary and the owners make money through appreciation of the franchise value. First place or last place, they smile all the way to the bank.

Strongsville Oh Cancels First Game

Player tests positive. Football activity suspended for a week and first game cancelled. Is this the shape of things to come or will the temptation to play override the need to report symptoms or cases? https://www.news5cleveland.com/sports/local-sports/strongsville-high-school-football-cancels-frida...

Re: This year's tournament

Then again the safe thing to do would be to have certain teams opt out due to safety reasons. Not demeaning anybody, but imagine the difference in athleticism if say the Notre Dame Titans drew Marion Local, Newark Catholic, or Trimble? The OHSAA needs the revenue but is it worth it to subject teams ...

Re: Ohio State Off Season All Things (2020 Football Season Cancelled)

Well speaking of the NCAA, I found they have granted an extra year of eligibility for fall athletes, but keeping scholarship limits at 85 with a one-time waiver for current seniors. Looks like OSU will either have to encourage non contributing football players to leave or reduce the number of scholl...
