Re: Is Waterford the premier D-IV program in the state?

I don't have their record for the last 15 years but it seems like they have a ticket to the Regionals during that span. Thanks for the mention of the other teams with better records. I think it's cool that a TVC team gets mentioned with the creme de la creme of girls basketball in D-IV. Good luck t...

Re: Is Waterford the premier D-IV program in the state?

I don't have all the Regional and State appearances but they have to be numerous. They have done it at a Public School which means he has to coach who lives in the area and walks through the doors. I know they have at least one State Championship. The guy has racked all this up while staying at one...

Re: Trimble vs Waterford regional final

Refs are terrible. You had that one ready early to avoid answering whether coaching made that much of a difference, the Trimble girls are underachievers, or if you were just flat wrong about Waterford’s talent. I have this theory that Gray Cat is not actually a Trimble fan, just someone who decided...

Re: Trimble vs Waterford regional final

Halftime Waterford 17 Trimble 14. The video is being filmed on Trimble side of gym- hear Trimble complaining about officiating. Have to say it seems to be OK by me- its a physical game and they usually let some bumping and pushing go at this level of tournament. Refs are terrible. You had that one ...

Think Howie might want to try a new sport? We have tons of talent coming back which I know is important.

Re: Kimes leaving Warren for Parkersburg??

Anyone hearing anything in the rumor mill about who the Warriors might go get? Any ideas? Saw on OHSAA job posting that the deadline for applications is March 11. Also noteworthy is that the Assistant AD job is posted. In theory, that can expand the applicant pool with an attractive overall hiring ...

Re: Waverly 19-4 vs Warren 17-6 District Semi Saturday 02/26 1:00pm

So, let’s say that the format is changed. I assume that the 2-7 seeds would likely go away from Waverly, leaving Warren to either choose a home game or to face one or the 2-7 seeds in a sectional final, making their road to the districts even more difficult This matchup still could have happened th...

Re: Should the TVC be worried about the new TSL?

What schools are in the new TSL? Fort Frye, Warren, Marrietta, and Point Pleasant , WV. I think the TSL formation is more about a need for a conference home for the involved schools rather than a burning desire to become a super conference. I believe in their announcement the TSL said they would we...

Re: A Look At The 2021 OHSAA State Football Championship Attendance Numbers

Being in Canton is the big factor of the low attendance, then TV, and then the same teams win it every year. Be nice if you win state the next year you get bumped up a division next year. OHSAA sucks at counting real enrollment Them there boys in that ther OHS double A should take a lesson from Wes...

Re: Week 10: Warren (3-6) @ Marietta (3-6)

Well, who else are they going to play? We'll see if I have a point or not if they go ahead and schedule BC. If they do then I'll agree with you. Also you basically said they left the the TVC to "upgrade their schedule" but now they want back in, so I guess they want to "downgrade the...

Re: Week 10: Warren (3-6) @ Marietta (3-6)

Maybe Warren should put BC on the schedule then, since talent and physicality shouldn't stop them. Just sayin. Warren has virtually always played a challenging schedule. Despite winning about 8 games in 8 years, they signed up for the ECOL with Dover & New Philly. Have played Point Pleasant, Jo...

Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?

Just for discussion, for football, is the need for being in a league relevant? With the expanded playoff format, are teams better off with an independent schedule designed to either enhance points or face tougher competition as needed? Aside from the scheduling benefits, the recognition for kids is...

Re: Week 10: Warren (3-6) @ Marietta (3-6)

16 teams is just too much. 8 is ok but the talent gap between #1 and #16 is quadruple touchdowns and waters down making the playoffs. Some teams will never make it to state but making it to the playoffs or winning a game is an accomplishment. Not anymore, just win three and you are in. Nobody ever ...

Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?

I was told The Burg schools are locked into certain conferences a few years ago when people were talking about then coming to an Ohio league, which was keeping them from joining. Don't know if that is the case now or ever really was. As far as I know, Parkersburg is in the MSAC but South is only in...

Re: Can we get a league to take Logan?

Logan , Fort Frye , Warren and Marietta need to form something Been throwing this out there to people for a while now. Also wondering if there aren’t some schools in the OVAC who have no other conference affiliation and/or some WV schools where the conferences can be very loosely organized that mig...

Re: Anticipated Coaching Vacancies for 2022

You’re referring to Point Pleasant, WV? The same head coach that has 121 wins, 12 playoff appearances, 7 second round appearances, 2 State Semifinal appearances, and a State Runner Up since 2008? I think that’s a coach that you keep as long as he wants to stay. Coach Darst and his staff are one of ...

If people think they can find a better coach then Coach Penrod. Then i guess they should look for a new coach. But 31-11 record and a 2-3 record against ironton a team we are 6-54 against in last 60 meetings. one conference championship and 3 second place finishes in 5 years. A lot schools would be...
