If you are a fan of baseball, this was a very good, fundamental game to watch. Both teams played hard! Roberston from Waverly and Russell from the Burg pitched an outstanding game for both clubs. My hat is off to both teams and coach's for playing baseball the way it is supposed to be played.

The high schools in this part of the state are too small for kids to participate in only one sport, specialize if you will. Let the kid(s) play whatever sport they decide they want to play.

I have heard that Post 23 out of Portsmouth is trying to get together a JV team this season for 15 & 16 year old players. If you see Jack Branon or Lance Davis at a game, you may want to ask them.

Schools in the SE usually do not get the respect like the schools up north. That is ok because it does not amount to a hill of beans where you start but where you end up. The Pirates will continue to focus on one game.

Rain cancelled the games today. Sometimes, its not bad to take a day or two away from the game and get refocused.

The PDT had the score wrong. It did end up 31-3. The game today with AA was cancelled because of the rain. The Pirates will continue to work hard to make improvements in their game.

If two runners DO occupy the same base you tag the back runner because the first person is entitled to the base.

I have to say I agree as well. Minford has a fantastic facility and Coach Martin has done a lot for the baseball program out there.
