That scenerio is kind of what I pictured in my head. With the new NY junior high being built next to the high school, the two buildings will be connected to each other and would make an ideal consolidated high school in the event NY and Trimble consolidated. Plus NY would have the modern athletic f...

When Athens turns things around, they will have four non-league football games in which they can play bigger schools for playoff points. The TVC Ohio will still provide point help for Athens if Athens wins the TVC outright - something any team must do for a successful playoff run. Keep in mind, the...

Top 5 games all-time of the Buckeyes-Chieftans rivalry

What makes a rivalry a rivalry? Is it the won-loss record of the teams playing, or the emotion of the teams and the towns playing that game? Between 1967 and 2002, Nelsonville-York and Logan played each other a total of 27 times (the old Nelsonville-Logan series existed from the beginning of organi...

The only school in the league that has consistently made the playoffs is NY and NY plays Athens every season anyways. I promise you NY will not be complaining because these schools have a very long history playing each other.

Top 5 games all-time of the Buckeyes-Bulldogs rivalry

After a quarter century of the Buckeyes and Bulldogs playing in their annual non-league contest turning into a league contest once again, I thought I'd put together my list of the top 5 games all-time between the schools during the non-league era. There were actually 6 games decided by a touchdown ...

While that would have been a very tough schedule for 2007, it might not be as difficult in 2008. Their is parity in the NFL in that it's next to impossible for the same teams to dominate every season. The Patriots have been on a role, and Indianapolis has had a decent stretch. But other then that, ...

Actually, Athens is shrinking. Athens used to be Division II until a few years ago. So if trends at Athens continue, Athens will gradually fall lower into the ranks of Division III over time, not rise up to Division II. Many districts in southeastern Ohio have fallen one division over the past deca...

Army, the NY-Trimble rivalry is not as intense as it used to be. In fact, in the 1990s it wasn't much of a rivalry at all because NY won every game that decade. NY-Trimble lost ALOT when the divisions broke the TVC up. It used to be the Week 10 match-up, often with the league title on the line. The...
