Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

I've been at Shawnee Summer League basketball games last couple of weeks. You start getting to know parents from other schools after being there every week for 3+ hours as well as from playing against the same athletes in other sports. I've already heard a couple of conversations between parents co...

Re: 2018 Waverly Tigers Football Outlook

Could see a 7-3 season again this year at best but don't know what the other schools retain from last season, hope for a good season for the tigers Just for debate who do you think are the 3 losses? The same as last season, Burg has been on top for a while other than the 16 game where waverly almos...

Waverly could turn some heads if they can put together the pieces sooner rather than later in the season

Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

Pirates must guard against the inevitable creep of complacency after achieving a monumental goal or task. A lot of pressure to continue improvement that allows a program to achieve at a high level. Be interesting to see how the staff and players react and step up, and based on what you hear they ha...

I personally do not see expansion in The near future but if it did I would think Vinton County would get the first invite.

I don't personally see them fitting in well with the SVC or SOC II, distance would be the problem

hope to see a better performance from my tigers when you make the trip, hopefully not a running clock at any point again I'm sure it will be a closer get than last year. Excited to come to your place. It is a nice set up if I say so my self, and i was very impressed when we made the trip last year ...

Re: 2018 East Tartans Football Outlook

It is not the same as playing out-of-state. You get computer points for out-of-state teams. The "Club" teams are not exclusive to a specific school. They take kids from their area that want to play. For that reason, OHSAA will not let those games from counting in computer points. Most do this becau...

Re: 2018 SOC 2 Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

To be the best you have to get the best, not saying all of burgs good players have been recruited, they have a very good coaching staff as it's showed over the years and is a reason to why kids would want to transfer

Re: 2018 East Tartans Football Outlook

Your probably right but that begins to open a can of worms for OHSAA. I’m surprised they allow OHSAA team to schedule an in state opponent like that. Thanks for the update. Not a problem, but i think they see it as when teams play other schools from other states forinstance playing a ky school or w...

Re: 2018 SVC Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

I don’t see how Western can maintain a varsity 5eam, they are such a small, poor, rural school. I wish them luck. They've been working towards the varsity aspect of it. I know this past season they've had pee wee teams, junior high. I think in 2018 they are just getting ready to start getting into ...

What is a HS club team? I’m not sports amateur but have never heard of such a thing. Specifically during nomalnHs season.

From what I've read and heard it is not funded by the school and by that not apart of the ohsaa, at least that's what i think it is i could be wrong

Re: 2018 SVC Football Offseason Talk and Outlook

The Soc II is probably the strongest football league in the area, but, only having 5 teams makes it a non conference scheduling nightmare! I am not bashing anyone, just pointing out that the Svc knows it isn’t a football juggernaut, but looks at the entire body of work in both boys and girls sports...

Re: 2018 SVC

As to the SVC, if it is not broken, do not fix it. The conference is the most stable in south central / south east Ohio. The biggest issue is competitive balance, as talent levels ebb and flow in small schools. Yet a usually mediocre football school, Southeastern, rose up and won the conference cha...

Re: 2018 Waverly Tigers Football Outlook

That will be the big thing is the production lost on offense defense and even special teams, the younger players that saw playing time last season saw and experienced what it was like to be successful, so hopefully they continue to improve before wk1 against Piketon

Realistically I do not see the SOC voting out Burg. What conference would they even join that would make sense?
