Re: South Webster 66 Valley 45

I'd add my comment above had nothing to do about coaching. Staff can't go out there and play defense for them. It about the players finishing winnable games in crunch time. Looks like they are starting to do so with wins over valley last night and phs today after the tough 3 game stretch.* Agree ar...

Re: A Look At Three OHSAA Boys Basketball Transfers...You Decide

Good read. It definitely seems as if the “little guy” gets hurt in situations like this more often than not. Spire, as well as any prep school similar to them, is in a great position to keep kids automatically eligible after transferring in. However, there a non OHSAA member so I don’t see how anyth...

... and out of THAT grouping EVEN with the record - South Webster is NOT a #7 seed ... oh my - Coal Grove #1, South Webster #2 imo BUT I KNOW THAT THE RECORD IS EVERYTHING IN MOST CASES ... I agree with you. But both teams need to win games to argue their case. It will be interesting but like I sai...

Re: 1/15 Chesapeake v Fairland

Fairland has put on an absolute coaching clinic for area teams to see this year. I have no clue if the OVC votes for a Coach of the year, but if they do, Coach Speed wins it hands down.

Re: Upsets in the TVC Hocking

At this point I don't even know if I'd call them upsets. The TVC Hocking is down, maybe as down as we've seen it in a long time. Any team can beat any team on any given night because there's no drastic separation between most of the teams.

How I would predict seeding would go if seeding were today: (Reminder, seeding isn't until February 10th) 1.) Coal Grove 2.) Trimble 3.) South Gallia 4.) Waterford 5.) Eastern 6.) Southern 7.) South Webster 8.) Symmes Valley 9.) Federal Hocking 10.) Miller I could see Southern making a little push. ...

1.) New Boston
2.) Green
3.) Ironton St. Joe
4.) Fairfield
5.) Peebles
6.) Whiteoak
7.) Clay
8.) Manchester
9.) Sciotoville East
10.) Notre Dame

I think most teams would be fine with that.

Solid win for WCH! They will be a very, very tough out in the D2 tournament.

Re: 1/15 St. Joe v Glenwood

21 pt win for New Boston. Shows St Joe should schedule more quality opponents, instead of winless or 1 win teams! Good Luck in the SOC1 next year! Good win for the Tigers. You are right, ISJ’s record is not indicative of what type of team they are compared to local D4 teams. However, hopefully join...

Logan is rolling right now!! They are up 38-22 late in the 3rd quarter.
This would be a phenomenal win for Logan. Pick is ranked top 5 in the state in D1 aren’t they?

Er, wait. I think that’s Pick Central. Big time statement win regardless

Steward also leads SEO in steals according to the website, getting it done at both ends. Curious if Waverly has anyone to matchup with 6'5 240lb Richie Burns. They have Smallwood who is around 6'6" and Dunn who is probably 6'3" or 6"4". Neither are as physically big as Burns but they atleast have s...

Re: Zach Loveday - Huntington Prep v Liberty Heights (NC)

The 1st minute alone shows why he's a D1 kid. There was matchup confusion and he sprints to the opposite block to defend the lob out of position, immediately comes down with a quick catch and shoot in the corner and drains it. Pretty basic stuff for all of us on the outside looking in, but when he'...

Re: Waverly (8-4) at WCH (8-3) Tuesday 1/15

Definitely an intriguing matchup but any time a team loses a 20+ ppg scorer they have to have several players step up. WCH is definitely athletic and quick enough to handle Waverly's pressure. Waverly's problem on the season has been consistent half court scoring, but the last 2 games they've seemed...

Re: Jackson @ Wheelersburg

Agree on all points.. Davis is a great post player and extremely physical in the post. However, Holden plays the wing and is quicker. I don't foresee Davis guarding Holden (that will likely be one of the Donaldson's or perhaps even Yates), but Davis can definitely help keep Holden off the glass. Luc...

Don't know what Jackson has but I'll tell you one thing. You gotta be able to shoot pretty well to stay with Burg. SW hit big time shots and should have pulled away if it weren't for a few clutch threes by the Burg. I'll take Wheelersburg just as a biased prediction, but looking forward to it, shou...
