Re: Zanesville at Chillicothe: SEOAL League Championship

The final was 10-1 Zanesville. Not sure on the details but they must have played GREAT defense to keep the Cavs high powered offense at bay. Hopefully more details to come.

Re: Zanesville at Chillicothe: SEOAL League Championship

Last I heard it was 6-0 Zanesville in the top of the 6th. I have not heard a final but I would expect the final score to be coming soon. I believe Zanesville pitched 2 sophomores today with the first round of the Tourney being played Monday against Lancaster.

Re: Zanesville at Chillicothe: SEOAL League Championship

Zanesville played Parkersburg South last night and for the first time in a while it looked like they BEAT a team. For weeks it seems like the teams had been beating themselves this one the Blue Devils took charge and owned the moment. I expect a good game with Chillicothe today although not sure why...

Re: 2009 Warren Warriors Season

My guess would be that Sophomore Cole Carpenter will get the start for the Devils. With Kaido and Young pitching Monday/Tuesday respectively I would see coach Balo giving Cole a chance to show his stuff to the Warren faithful. The Blue Devils are really seeing the ball well and with the weather hold...

Re: 2009 Warren Warriors Season

As a Zanesville fan we are hoping to get this game in tomorrow. We have played the past 2 nights at home in very non baseball weather and would like to get a game in when it is above 50 degrees. We have as a team played well in spurts but have shown signs of mental relaxation in the past couple of c...

Marietta v Zanesville 4/6

I am really looking forward to this match up @ ZHS Monday. I expect that both teams will be pitching their ace. I know ZHS is rolling at the plate after facing Newark's ace on Thursday so will be interesting to see how they do against the likes of MHS. How is Marietta coming along since the basketba...

Re: Zanesville 11 Newark 0 Thursday 4/2

I heard 2 students give the F@$# Zanesville chant on their way out during the team huddle in left. Always classy move for the Licking County faithful. However I did see a Newark adult fan rip them a new one after the fact saying we beat them straight up and that we deserved more respect than that. S...

Zanesville 11 Newark 0 Thursday 4/2

Zanesville takes advantage of Newark mistakes and wins big again 11-0 in 5 Innings. Colten Maxwell hits HR in the fifth to open the floodgates for the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils have hit at least 1 HR in each game and scrimmage this season and also have 2 successful squeeze bunts. Proving that the...

Re: SEOAL BASEBALL

I was there on Monday but for fear of dropping my cell phone in the water in the infield I didn't take a picture. All I know is wearing dress pants and dress shoes my feet and pants were soaked from stepping inside the infield for less than 20 seconds. The "dirt" in the infield had 2 or 3 ...

Re: SEOAL BASEBALL

That field in Logan was unplayable if you are looking for what is in the best interest of the players involved. Coming from a former player and coach who has seen injury after injury end a players season because the game was forced to be played on less then acceptable playing surfaces. Standing wate...

Zanesville 13 Meadowbrook 0 5 Innings Wade Kaido(JR) pitched 3 perfect innings before giving up a bleeding single to right in the 4th. He finished 4 innings 1 hit, 0 BB, 6 K's. Sophomore Andy Paxson gave up 1 hit in the 5th in relief. (Z) Wade Kaido 3-4 with 3 HR's 7 RBI's Kurt Young 3-3 with a walk...

Scrimmages??

With the season right around the corner who has everyone scrimmaged and who is still coming before opening day? Zanesville has 2 scrimmages this weekend weather permitting and looked strong offensively in the first 2 scrimmages of the year. Zanesville beat West Muskingum 24-7 in 10 innings last week...

Re: Who will win the SEOAL championship crown?

Zanesville is off to a pretty good start. The offense is starting to click but still not getting great results in the 5-8 hole in the lineup. First scrimmage against West Muskingum Zanesville won 24-7 over 10 innings. Got a chance to pitch 6 kids and see what some of the different lineups would look...

Re: Fort Frye Baseball

The games will be held at ZHS. The work that the boosters have done on the field and facilities is really starting to show and should be commended. I look for it to be a great day of baseball in Zanesville. It is actually the only 3 way DH being played at the high school. We also have a DH with Lick...

Re: Best players in SEO

I would say from Zanesville you have 3 candidates in: JT Bunting CF Sr. Wade Kaido SS/P Jr. (one of the best under 18 catchers around too but more valuable to this team at SS) Colten Maxwell 3B/SS/P Jr. also I think this year Zanesville could have a chance to add a few names to this list with some u...

Zanesville will be playing Fort Frye in a 3 way double header with Philo. I haven't seen them in a few years but am excited to see them on the schedule.

Re: the DH

I think the idea of the DH is a good idea if the coach is using it for the right reasons. We at Zanesville had a player who due to a shoulder injury was unable to play in the field but was able to bat for his senior season due to the DH. I do worry that if used improperly a DH being used will limit ...
