Re: 3-5 Wellston @ 1-6 Alexander
I was not making a comment about the knowledge and abilities of the the Wellston staff. My comment was that it reflects either the economic situation of the district or that the board and administration are not investing in Wellston athletics. The head coach and his assistants are obiviously working...

Re: 3-5 Wellston @ 1-6 Alexander
Is it true that most of Wellston's staff is working on a volunteer basis? What the heck is up with that, the coaches and kids deserve to have some money put into the Rocket program. Its tough to turn things around without support from above

Re: Week 8: Portsmouth (2-5) at Jackson (3-4)
Jackson should win this game based on Portsmouth's previous lack of success in stopping anyone from scoring. Portsmouth defense is giving up an average of five scores or 36 points per game. The running game should have a lot of success against their defense. The Ironman should be able to move the ba...

Re: athens
Comparing Vinton" COUNTY "to Athens " CITY" school district is like comparing apples to oranges. Yes some kids in the Athens district may live outside the city limits , but nothing like Vinton County. Some Vinton County Kids spend almost two hours commuting one way to school ever...

Re: 2013 Oak Hill Oaks
Oakhill has the best of both worlds staying in the SOC I. In good years they can win a league championship and still play SOC II schools, get enough non league points plus the points they can get off Symmes Valley and finish in the top 5 of the region to stay at home for a playoff game. In down year...

Re: Ohio vs.WV
Ohio 13 million people , West Virginia around 3 million. West Virginia around 37 AAA Schools, 49 AA and 50 some A schools. Compare that to the number of High Schools competing in Football in Ohio. With the large urban areas in Ohio the odds would be in favor of having a larger talent pool. Having sa...

Re: WEEK 13 Valley vs. Liberty Union
Be realistic, if Valley has any kind of defense they will be in this game. The Oaks held Liberty Union to 79 yards on the ground. What they run is more like a wing T buck sweep out of an unbalanced gun look, where the motion back cuts things back to make it almost like an off-tackle play. The Oaks d...

Re: Week 12....Liberty Union (9-2) vs Oak Hill (9-2)
Great job Oak Hill Oaks this year. Both players and coaches! Since I first started coaching the game has changed so much, there are so many things wrong with the way some fans, parents and coaches approach high school football anymore . But you reminded me Football is a special game, it allows for s...

Re: #7 Hillsdale (7-3) @ #2 Oak Hill (8-2)
I dont think it had anything to do with being out coached. It was more being the case of trying to stop a well executed inside veer play and the tough running of Hillsdales backs. Many times the tailback and the fullback were hit at the line and because of the caliber of backs they were they gained ...

Re: Week 12....Liberty Union (9-2) vs Oak Hill (9-2)
Oaks play tough on defense and they will have their hands full as usual. Couldnt be a better match up for you defensively. Would rather you guys face what is coming than speed in space. LU a lot of unbalanced line and coming right at you whether they are in the gun or under center. Unbalanced line P...

Re: #7 Hillsdale (7-3) @ #2 Oak Hill (8-2)
Devon Davis started Fullback and Inside Linebacker on that Oakhill team and Wes Harden got a significant amount of playing time also at inside linebacker as sophmores.

Re: #7 Hillsdale (7-3) @ #2 Oak Hill (8-2)
Oak Hill has play off experience also, this is not their first rodeo. Some of these kids were part of that experience, playing on one of those teams that made it to the Regional final. I have seen Hillsdale on film and the Oaks can more than compete with them. As you have done all year do not listen...

Re: #7 Hillsdale (7-3) @ #2 Oak Hill (8-2)
Hillsdale is a jet sweep and option team that gets in the I every now and then. They are really not a power knock you off the ball team or a zing it around through the air team.

Re: JV Chillicothe/Jackson 8-6
I would think you would find very few teams across the State of Ohio whose JV teams get much work on their own. There just is not any time for it in practice. The JV kids are running everyone elses offense on the scout team all week. Most if their lucky get a walk thru on a Saturday morning. Thats w...

Re: WEEK 9: Symmes Valley (6-2{2-1}) @ Notre Dame (6-2{2-1})
I think giving the impression that Notre Dame is some kind of David vs. Goliath situation is very misleading, the number of boys Notre Dame has is kind of irrelevant , it is not even a fair comparison to some place like a Manchester , South Gallia or Hannan West Virginia, those places being small ru...

Watch the defensive Youtube video that starts with Watterson on Offense and Ironton on defense.. Just so these guys dont convince yo...
