Re: Farthest distance traveled as a fan/player for regular season game

Back around 2000, Vinton County traveled 151 miles to Indian Creek for a regular season game.
In 2004, Vinton County traveled 196 miles to Northwest High school (Canal Fulton) for a first round playoff game. Those are the two farthest for VC, to my knowledge.

Re: Consolidation and when will it effect SE Ohio ????

I think there's a lot to go into it when you talk about consolidating schools, I would think that's more for the larger inner city schools. When you start looking at SEO schools most are spread out so far to consolidate you would have kids on a bus for 90 minutes or more just trying to get home. Th...

Re: Consolidation and when will it effect SE Ohio ????

Now that the playoffs are here my question is How long before the state look at consolidating schools. You have many smaller schools that keep losing enrollment. And others that are getting smaller. Ironton it seems is constantly getting smaller as is Coal Grove , Green among others I know several ...

Re: Playoffs and the OVC

Ironton
Jackson
Portsmouth
Gallia
Chillicothe
Athens
Logan
Point Pleasant

Now that would be a loaded football conference.

Re: More TVC Discussion

Lol and the dead horse beating continues. First, let's just be clear certain posters acting like Athens doesn't dominate football and using the tiresome argument that they have only won 1/2 or so of of their games against NY conveniently omits the fact that their other TVC opponents in football don...

Re: More TVC Discussion

Athens wanting to drive what is probably 15 miles further to Oak Hill who has been in the SOC for a good while in lieu of asking Warren who has been begging for a place to land for 10 years is special. Warren may be closer to Athens than Oak Hill but Oak Hill is, on average, closer for the TVC as a...

Re: More TVC Discussion

Seriously? You ASKED Athens to leave its league. You INVITED Athens to join the TVC. Now that their former league has disbanded, you want them to do "the right thing" and leave? How about this: maybe you guys should have "done the right thing" and not even asked??? Don't be mad at Athens or think i...

Re: More TVC Discussion

I would honestly like to see the TVC send an invite to Oak Hill for the Ohio Division and Fort Frye for the Hocking. That would give each division, 8 teams. I think 8 is the magic number in terms of putting multiple teams into the playoffs for football. That would work. Athens wanting to drive what...

Re: More TVC Discussion

If the TVC doesn’t vote for Marietta or look to expand then I think River Valley should play in the Hocking for football only and Nelsonville-York should be in the Ohio for football only. That would even the divisions up and River Valley would be in a division where they could compete in football an...

Re: More TVC Discussion

Marietta has been making a big pitch to the TVC teams over the last couple months. I know they contacted Athens and NY. They also showed up at Vinton County and had a meeting. The next TVC meeting is this month. I’d imagine there will be a vote on Marietta then.

Re: Football Officials

I’d say first off, don’t allow a crew which has members that own a local business that sponsors the home team to officiate said home teams games. That’s a start. Come on man. So now we can’t advertise our business or sponsor teams just because we officiate? I advertise my business with and sponsor ...

Re: River Valley 29 - 12 South Gallia

Congratulations on picking up the win Raiders. Awesome job CY on breaking the rushing record! The Raiders faced a pretty loaded schedule this year and to be able to hit that mark against some pretty tough opponents makes it an even greater accomplishment.

Re: Neslonville-York Buckeyes, TVC-Ohio CO Champs

NY started a fight. Cmon man #54 in green was giving cheap shots all game. Athens peeps blowing it way out of proportion. Someone said last nite on here if NY made playoffs ohsaa would have stepped in. I have no idea what happened but I did hear there was an ejection. If that’s the case and the pla...

Re: Bump River Valley down to the Hocking?

I don’t see the Ohio wanting anything to do with Trimble. Nelsonville York and Vinton County both play Trimble next season. I’d like to see the Tomcats in the Ohio Division now that their football facility has been updated. What's the facility have to do with anything? Football is football no matte...
