Re: 2/23 Fairland v Wheelersburg
Burg guard play hard to slow down. Fairyland better be able to handle the ball. Burg forces turnovers. But good guard play with post player could give them trouble. Burg by 10....

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly, Friday, 2/1/19
Can anyone tell me why the Wheelersburg coach continues to leave Holden in the game in blowouts? Lol I’ve seen multiple times now when he has been up 20+ under 2 min and leaves the kid in, even drawing up sets for him lol. Is the 30 point average and undefeated season not enough? It’s unfortunate t...

Re: Coaches Ignoring OHSAA Plea For Help?
in my opinion this is a interesting topic. I understand what most are saying since it falls in the current political climate of not offending anyone. What about the kid that put in hours and hours of practice to become the player they have become. Now we are supposed to tell that kid they cannot pl...

Themed student sections seems to be somewhat connected to “scheduled play date” phenomena from their childhood. About 20 years ago.

Re: 12-18 Wheelersburg vs Waverly
I've always said over the years that I admire the Burg for there " Refuse to lose Attitude ", not only there athletes but there Community as well. I really would like to know, that if Tom Barrick were still the Basketball coach, would some of the things that are being discussed that are going on, w...

Oldies but Meadows, Gray, Bays brothers and Rase were all D1 players from Burg.

Burg shooting free throws at good percentage. Much better than last season thus far. Should be fun one to watch.

It’s not about the money. You hardly break even and probably lose unless you do a lot of games. But it keeps you in the love of the game.

Re: Burg 0-0 @ 3-0 oakhill
To me it's interesting tonight in that Wheelersburg is the clear favorite to win the SOC II title. Ater has never once won an SOC title, not even with his loaded teams at Webster nor with any Burg team the last 5 years. It would be ironic for his high school coach, Coach Persin, to start Ater's yea...

Seems as if Burg wins most SOC games and remaining teams will beat each other up and fight for second.

Re: The future of grass fields
Those who say grass is better is because they currently play on grass. Turf is great to accommodate bad weather and multiple uses of the field. Ideal for school uses. Cost savings is arguable but there is a lot of cost to upkeep grass.

Re: Burg vs. Portsmouth Future??
Burg vs Portsmouth Future - I say why not both. I do sense some re-emergence in Trojan land here recently. It would be something to have the Burg of present and the Trojans of old both be there in the future. Now that would be something to see for all fans. Giving Burg the week back and they are us...

After a long football run it generally takes Burg a few extra weeks to get their basketball legs. Should be a good season as long as people perform like they are expected.

Re: Burg vs. Portsmouth
When you win people want to be a part of it. Why do you stay somewhere when you get drilled each and every week? If your kid wants to play and have success then give them the chance. Makes no difference the sport or community. Portsmouth should never have dropped Burg. Giving up that home gate was ...

Burg guard play will be good. You can win a lot of girls games with good guard play. Minford inside play has potential but they will struggle to get the ball up the court.captainmorgan_ wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 11:10 amI think Minford, Wheelersburg and Waverly compete for 1st. after that, it's a toss up.

He's a great player, but without help he will be much easier to contain. Those twin sets with him and Holden were basically unguardable for local teams. You can bracket him without Holden Every year it’s the same old story....what Burg gonna do. Some how they seem to find a way. I wouldn’t worry my...
