Re: 2020 Football Season

Each day that passes brings us closer to a highly effective drug therapy. It will prevent people from getting critically ill and if someone does get seriously ill, it will prevent them from dying. On going test for a vaccine look promising. An effective drug therapy and a vaccine will both happen. I...

Re: Finally the kids can practice on Monday!

When a person infected with COVID-19 and a person who is not infected both wear mask the transmission rate is extremely low. Wearing mask is the number one tool we have in slowing or stopping the spread of the virus, along with social distancing. But apparently some people don't believe in science o...

Re: No fans this fall

I'm still optimistic there will be a football season. But there will be significant measures taken in an attempt to keep fans and players safe......and rightly so. With nearly 120,000 Americans dead in just over three months and others who have recovered facing serious medical complications now from...

Re: Waverly 2020

Offense should be solid again. A healthy Shanks and Wolf sure will be nice. I really think we'll see good things out of Shoemaker this year. The kid has been working extremely hard from what I'm hearing. I expect the biggest improvement will be on the defensive side of the ball. Most of the starters...

Re: Wow!

COVID-19 has 10 times the mortality rate as the seasonal flu. In some parts of the world the death rate is 6%.

Our only chance to get on top of this is NOW. Once the outbreak explodes it's too late. Time to defer to the health experts and take the necessary steps.

Re: OHSAA Tourney and COVID-19

I work in the healthcare industry. One answer to the questions of “why cancel school” or “why are they limiting attendance at sporting events” is to slow the speed at which the virus transmits throughout the population. The younger population has been proven to be resilient when infected with the v...

Re: OHSAA Tourney and COVID-19

Better to be proactive than reactive. This is not a decision they made lightly and not an easy decision. So much still unknown about this virus. As much as I hate that there will be only a few fans at each game, I support the decision.

Re: (5) Waverly vs. (8) Warren Sat. 2/29

With this being the first game of the night at the convo, hoping there is a decently big crowd. About a 45min drive for Warren and an hour and 15 min for Waverly. I expect there to be a pretty large crowd for Waverly, as they have had a good following all year. I'd say both teams will bring a big c...

Waverly vs Warren at 7:00
Athens vs Logan Elm at 8:45

The best I can tell these are the only two high school games at the Convo on Saturday the 29th. Perhaps someone will let us know if there are other games there Saturday.

Haven't been is a gym that jammed packed in a long time. Saw fans from numerous areas schools there. Truly a classic that will not soon be forgotten. As for the game. It seemed like going down the stretch Waverly had just a little more grit and determination. They really got after it on the boards....

Re: Jackson vs Logan Elm...Sectional Final

28-31 from the line. That's darn near unbelievable! That's got to be some kind of a record.

How was Logan Elm from the line during the regular season?

Re: (4) Unioto vs (5) Waverly Sat 2/22

Similar teams in many regards. Unioto's game goes through Little, Waverly's through Trey. If not scoring they're creating shots for others. Unioto obviously goes deeper into their bench. Both teams play extremely hard. Size is very similar. I was very impressed with # 12 for Unioto last night. Made ...

Re: (4) Unioto vs (5) Waverly Sat 2/22

Waverly comes in as a slight underdog in this contest. Unioto at the 4 spot and Waverly a 5 seed. Zeke getting healthy and back on track was a life saver last night. Double double by him and Will I believe. Lots of grabbing and holding off the ball last night. Trey could of ended up at the line mor...

Re: Wheelersburg @ Waverly Thurs 2/13

That was the most fans I've seen at a regular season home game at Waverly in a long time. What a great atmosphere. And to think this was a Thursday game that was not on the schedule...... Impressive turnout. Never like coming up short but it really was a dandy game. Close throughout and as others ha...
