Agreed. Marv Morehead Stadium at Upper Arlington could handle all the games.

Re: D5 State Championship: Wheelersburg vs Pemberville Eastwood

Some teams get to the championship game by pluck and grit. Some have a path paved for them. I going with Wheelersburg by 17+. They'd have been playing week 12 in the Region 11. Just too physical in this game. The rule for NWO is: If you ain't MAC or TRAC, you ain't jack. Take away those two conferen...

Re: Will the state championship be held in Cleveland????

After this weekend, I wouldn't be surprised to see OHSAA back out of Canton for 2018. Attendance is going to be way down. I'd be surprised if D-1 draws 10K.

Hartley is also playing Clinton-Massie in 18 (away) and 19 (home).

Re: Have OHSAA's efforts with Competitive Balance worked?

I heard Wheelersburg is shutting down open enrollment. Strictly for football reasons, I'm sure. Since every enrollment decision made at schools that win is decided entirely by its impact on football. I heard that JD was having a discussion just last week with Mr Walker over at Portsmouth Notre Dame...

Re: Tri-Valley vs. Bishop Hartley

There's got to be a nephew or first cousin once removed of Andy Groom in the system somewhere to give us an actual punter. Four years of shanks by QBs kept in for an occasional fake is just giving away too much yardage. And that crappy rugby style stutter step thing is just inches away from getting ...

Re: Tri-Valley vs. Bishop Hartley

Refs called the chop blocks and holds you can see if you watch Hartley on any Spectrum games. They didn't call any penalties that Hartley hadn't committed all season. First and 35 against a great defense like Tri-Valley isn't going to go like first and 35 against horrible running clocked opponents....

Re: Tri-Valley vs. Bishop Hartley

shutting up their very mouthy fans. Uh. Sorry. Won't be happening. Couple days maybe and then they come back whining about officiating and whatnot. Our bleachers were fairly annoying last night. Didn't even understand the missed FG touchback rule. TV had a great game plan and just plain out-played ...

Re: Reasons you won't attend the state finals? Update: Prices included

I'm only interested in D-III and only if Hartley is there. I cut the cord this last year, so I'm not even going to watch any games on TV. Life's too busy. If by some miracle Hartley makes it and the game is 8:00, then I'll probably go to Mass before the game, drive home during the night, and contrib...

Re: Tri-Valley vs. Bishop Hartley

Could someone give a read on parking? I'm parking at Wildwood Park in Granville and jogging into the game on the Evans trail, LOL. I'm assuming they'll direct us all to the YMCA lot and the grass fields on the west side of 79 off Church Street. The stadium lot will probably be for passes only. I'd ...

Re: Johnstown Monroe v Wheelersburg

BTW, another GREAT place to eat is the Cozy Inn. 4-5 blocks from the stadium and is a darn good hamburger. Hole in wall type atmosphere, recently remolded. Local favorite. And they've got a Dakota's Roadhouse if you're missing the one in Portsmouth. You gotta go in the wrong direction, but it's clo...

Re: Johnstown Monroe v Wheelersburg

Wheelersburg big. Both are good physical teams, but Burg has a big edge on speed. Both teams are going to struggle to run the ball. Since the weather is going to be ideal, I'm expecting QB will pick apart Johnnies suspect pass defense. Johnstown drew some good seeding matchups in weeks 11 and 12 tha...

Re: Tri-Valley vs. Bishop Hartley

Sticking with my assessment that this will be a close game between two physical and fundamentally sound teams - like previous regional championships against Ottawa Glandorf, Bellevue, and Wheelersburg. Game decided by turnovers and/or big plays.

Re: Round 1 Playoffs DV , R19 #8 (7-3) Bishop Ready @ #1 (10-0) Wheelersburg

What's their pass game like? Honestly, I didn't scout them at all prior to the Hartley game. That was the only one I saw. QB was 2 for 10, both to #8, one for TD. As you might remember, our corners play soft man and handsey. Hartley defense was too physical for Ready OLine, so a lot of throws were ...

Re: Round 1 Playoffs DIII , R11 #7 (8-2) Jackson @ #2 (8-1) Independence

Jackson always fields a good physical team. I think they've got an outside shot at the upset. Independence has a ton of talent and speed, but I'll give the same hope that I did with MF/TV - Independence can be sloppy, un-disciplined, and impatient. Less so this season though. The coach is Maurice Do...

Re: Round 1 Playoffs DIII , R11 #5 (9-1) Tri-Valley @ #4 (8-2) Marion-Franklin

Nobody in their right mind wants Tri-Valley in this region. Definite dark horse. Always physical and always a tough out. MF can be sloppy, un-disciplined, and impatient. Word of advice to visitors - take something solid to put down on the bleachers to sit on underneath blankets or cushions - they're...

Winton Woods 47 Chillicothe 0. No contest. They'll make Hartley look dog slow. Warriors will get 120 yards in penalties to keep it close.
