Re: Mega shoot out at Portsmouth High School

Props to Portsmouth High for running a great junior high shootout Saturday. Saw a lot of good games, games stayed on schedule for the most part, and officiating was solid. Hope this becomes an annual event.*

Re: Enrollment Numbers and Divisions posted for 2020

Really expect Lucasville Valley to make some noise next few years now that they D4. Zane Trace down to D3 will be interesting as well. Coal Grove goes back up to D3, and Western Latham and West Union both stay in D3 after barely miss dropping to D4.*

Re: Ironton boys basketball job?

Nice to see that Ironton got it right and hired the best coach that applied. Good job superintendent and school board. Now put this topic to rest They did not. They had the opportunity to hire an NAIA Hall Of Fame Coach with 800 wins but did not.. Somebody dropped the ball. Don't know who y...

Re: Division 4 Tournament

SOC I bottom half so weak which courld be a problem for Clay/Green the deeper they get in tourney. Don’t know who pitched for Green, but definitely concerning with a score like that against West (who finished 6th in SOC II).*

Re: Ironton boys basketball job?

Nothing at all against LaFon but I think a lot of coaches arent interested because he will still be there. Hire McKnight and be done with it and nothing changes and all will be happy Could definitely see that being an issue with the old coach still hanging around as the AD. Surprised this job has t...

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies

If Eastern's basketball program is going back to D4, the move to SOC II will help them come tourney time, but say goodbye to any league championships. As far as the other sports, don't see much benefit for them other than bigger gates (SOC II schools bring a lot more fans).*

I haven't heard Shoemaker's name yet. Would he be the "splash" that Western is trying to make?
Don't see that happening with Shoemaker's kid getting ready to enter junior high at Minford along with great talent around him (best 6th grade team in area).*

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies

Could we see Travis Bradford try to get one of the jobs open? Gotta figure Bradford still wants to coach as he applied for the West job and didn't get it, so he's been at Burg as an assistant for Ater last couple of years. Think he'd still be a good fit at most SOC I or SOC II schools should a job ...

Re: South Webster Star Blevins to Rio next season

Congrats to Shiloah. One of the most entertaining players to watch in southeastern Ohio I can recall. Rio had a cool highlight video on their twitter account where they dubbed Blevins the "Jeep Freak." If he hits the weights and keeps developing, he'll have a great career at Rio. swanker: goes to sh...

Re: Youth basketball question.

No zone. You can always teach junior high/high school kids how to play zone, harder to get them used to playing man-to-man when they haven't done it much. Problem though is everyone starts out youth ball season playing man, but as soon as tourneys (trophy season) roll around, everyone sells out and ...

Re: Best fit for the TVC- Fort Frye or Oak Hill

Have heard a lot of rumblings last few weeks about Oak Hill being unhappy with move up to SOC II in football, so maybe there some truth here. But TVC not exactly pushovers in football either. My guess is they'll let TVC wine-and-dine 'em before staying put in SOC.*

The North Adams semi in 1996 🤦🏻‍♂️ Nice call refs smh. Not sure Seaman will ever reproduce another such team 8-) I see what you did there! But I was at that game and remember thinking what a shame b/c North Adams will likely never have a team that talented ever again. Should have won it all. Still ...

Safe to say Logan shouldn't have been #1? Why? Lost to 28 seed Grove City lmao, meanwhile #7 Sheridan and #2 Wheelersburg made it to the Final Four and Elite Eight, respectively. Don't think Logan could play with Harvest Prep. I hope you're just trolling pfloyd, but if not, I don't know what to tel...

Re: Regional Final: Wheelersburg vs Harvest Prep

What happened to McCorkle in the 2nd half? Thought he gave them good minutes in the 1st half and gave them that extra inside presence. He played the 2nd qtr and HP did not score. I know it wasn't all him but he gave them good minutes. Was wondering the same thing. Prep really struggled on offense w...
