Re: South webster going down hill

bulkmove: I hope Webster stays in SOC II. It is a definite advantage come D4 tourney time having played mostly D3 and D2 schools. Even though it probably costs them 4-6 wins a year, I beleive it is worth it come tourney time. Webster would have won alot more SOC championships in the '90s and '00s ha...

Re: Your Schools All-Time Starting 5

Watcher: pretty solid list for South Webster. I think Brett Roberts and Nick Aldridge are the only locks for the starting 5. After that, a case could be made for all of the following players: Brigham Waginger Michael Coriell Justin Lower Eric McClintic Brady Rose Jeremy Kaltenbach Bryan Dyer Jeff Br...

Re: WEST BASKETBALL

Good luck to West and the new coach. Seems like they have some talent out there but can never put it all together for some reason (maybe it's just a football school and basketball will always be an afterthought...who knows). But I remember Scott Jenkins' teams with Asa Jewett and Co. and they were p...

Re: Portsmouth 08-09

That backcourt is going to be scary! Also plenty of size in the frontcourt means PHS looking like a 15-5 type team. But like others have already said, Portsmouth's overall success will be determined by what kind of work they do on defense and on the boards. This team will be able to run with anybody...

doc_panther: didn't know OU offered Hitchens...if so, you're right in that there wasn't much else they could do. As for Thoroughman and/or Aldridge, I stand by my position that OU dropped the ball by not offering them. qualfied: I guess BJ Mullens being selected to play in the McDonald's All-America...

South Webster football?

Anybody heard anything new about plans for football at Webster? The pee wee program has been a hit with the kids from what I hear and the numbers have stayed solid. This weekend I was told that Notre Dame High School recently sold them some used equipment, but the person wasn't sure if it was for ju...

Re: South webster going down hill

alabama_mike: every team but Wheelersburg seemingly! But yeah, for every other school in the area, there will always be some down years mixed in with the good. I think last year was only the second losing season in 10 years for Webster, so I don't think they'll be down for long.*

Re: Ray Chambers

dshanton: someone on jj said Wright State is interested in Chambers? That'd be a good fit in my opinion. Good up and coming program and he could be dominant at the 4 spot in that league with a little bit of muscle added. As for OU, I don't care what anyone says, they have missed out on some good loc...

Re: South webster going down hill

burg_kid: going downhill? It hit rockbottom last year. But everybody familiar with Webster basketball knew what was coming after the recent wave of success. I know others think otherwise, but I don't think Coach Kreischer would have made too much of a difference with last year's team. It's arguable ...

iwearblacknikes: LOL...I wasn't going to respond to it but in all my years around basketball, I cannot figure out one valid reason why you would deliberately play another team's style without first trying to impose your style on them. Maybe Black Panther will elaborate because I am clueless as to ho...

Good luck to Oak Hill tomorrow...not bad for a "down" year huh? Garaway sounds like they try to put you to sleep with their pace, so hopefully the Oaks can speed it up on them.*

Re: 2/28 Regional Semifinal: South Webster vs. Africentric

Wow...what an effort by the Lady Jeeps last night. Normally I say moral victories are for losers, but given the circumstances of what Webster was up against, they should be more than proud of their performance. They got no respect all year long from the AP voters, but proved that they were one of th...

Re: Girls 2/28 Regional Semifinal: South Webster vs. Africentric

Like others have already said, my heart says Webster, my head says Africentric. Webster's only chance is if they control the tempo of this game to a halfcourt crawl and keep the score low. What I've heard from a guy familiar with Africentric is that a team with guards that can handle the ball agains...

Re: 3/1 Huntington vs. Wheelersburg

Burg by 20+. Their lockdown defense is probably going to get them back to State. Amazing how Barrick can win with whatever type of team he has. Last year their offense was downright scary. This year it's nothing special but it doesn't have to be when you're only giving up 35-40pts/game. Good luck Pi...

Re: Bad shooting horrible defense and little rebounding Bucks

Pathetic effort by tOSU today. They have no clue on offense. It's basically Butler dribbling 15-20 seconds at the top of the key and then chucking a 25 footer. He won't be missed and neither will Hunter. They are no-shows in the games that matter but look all-world against Penn State, Northwestern, ...

Re: South Webster vs. New Boston D 4 District Championship

I understand others' arguments against leaving Cook in just to get her 1000th point late in a blowout. But digger makes a great point though in that it just would have been a distraction heading into Webster's biggest game of the year. But here's the main reason I have no problem leaving Webster's s...

Just playing devil's advocate, but how many nights a week can a team practice when they are having Tuesday and Friday games? Unless they come in on the weekend....3 times. How many coaches are going to run long and intense practices the night before a game? Not too many...so basically most weeks dur...
