Re: Rio Grande Bringing Back Football

I think if contacted Woodward would have to take the call. His wife is a professor at SSU so maybe Rio tries to offer some kind of deal for everyone. He’s been a coach/teacher for more than 20 years, what does that do for retirement? Could he defer retirement? Didn’t he play at Ohio Wesleyan? So he...

Re: Rio Grande Bringing Back Football

Wondering if pay will be good enough to get a good high school to take the job. anything less than six figures is essentially a lateral move to a tecaher with 20 years who is used to getting supplementals. But the more I think about it, who can afford the job? An experienced HS teacher/coach with a...

Re: Rio Grande Bringing Back Football

1000? lol. It's probably only a slight exaggeration. The number of guys who would take any first college HC job just to step to the next one is nuts, beacuse they believe EVERY JOB IS JUST A STEP ON THE WAY TO THE BIG TIME. This is why I believe a local HS guy is the best fit. Get a guy who you cou...

Re: Oak Hill Declines TVC Offer: Remains in SOC

Thank God. The TVC dodged a bullet with that one. Not if the SOC decides to expand and poach River Valley and Wellston. OH would’ve evened the Ohio division. I would like to see the TVC rotate the non conference week because it’s a lot more difficult to find a non conference game every year for VC ...

Somebody asked me that once... all I could say was that it was as close as I could get to going home.

Re: River Valley Job

The district has to take the allegation seriously so I figure he is on paid administrative leave until the investigation finds out what is going on. Until then the assistants will have to take up the slack. If he is cleared he will be back teaching and coaching. This would of been turned over the p...

Re: River Valley Job

RV needs to be very careful here. Even if nothing can be “proven”, do you really want these allegations surrounding your school? You can’t turn a blind eye ever again on this stuff. On the other hand, if someone made up a story and absolutely nothing happened then he should be cleared in the public...

Re: Vinton County 2024

Who’s your suggestion then? Somebody internal I assume. Games? Phillips? Mendes? Garth Fry? Long? Hire? Games should be the front runner. Phillips would be a good hire too. My son told me has heard Fry is going to apply. Could be interesting. Long is interesting. Seems to know ball, but he’s young....

The flow seems to alternate... early on the flow went toward GA, then in the 2010s, at least for a little bit, the bleeding stopped.

Coach Burleson was one of the people doing the interviewing.

Money talks I guess 💰👎 Absolutely not. All you do is flap your gums about things you’ve hardly scratched the surface on. Coach Carter took the reigns of a promising team and turned them into a winning football unit. Coach Carter is extremely dedicated to his work, and loves his guys. Gallia runs of...

If the guy has a teaching degree, and he’s the right guy for the job, you do whatever you can do to get him there. If that means moving some teachers around to get him into the right area, do it. If that means hiring him as a floating sub, do it. If that means upsetting the teachers association, wh...
