Re: Who will take over in Portsmouth
It will be an insides hire for the Trojans.
I know one guy who could have probably convinced Parker to stay, though. LOL

Re: I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR WHEELERSBURG POSTERS.
I'm an outsider looking in, but will give my 2 cents worth. Wheelersburg has a great culture. Teams root for all teams to succeed. Fan support is bar none. But I truly believe this one area is the main reason why Wheelersburg is at the top and some will probably disagree, which is fine. Wheelersbur...

Re: I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR WHEELERSBURG POSTERS.
I would say that the existence of varsity soccer and successful football at a Division V school probably says something about the sheer number of kids at 'Burg who can afford to still be kids and play sports (familial stability).

Had to turn it off. Nobody but die hard Burg fans would want to listen to those clowns.

Re: I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR WHEELERSBURG POSTERS.
If we look at the Coldwater/MAC model, youth football isn't necessary. http://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/mac-winning-formula-soccer-peewee-football-transfers/NYNPJuYeMyjNRD9Vm28yiJ/ But the interviewed, coaches prominently mention stability (again, it only has to be enough money) as a key to lon...

Re: I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR WHEELERSBURG POSTERS.
Socioeconomics have a little to do with it. Scioto County doesn't have a great deal of wealth but a great deal of that wealth resides in Wheelersburg. Money helps. I graduated from Wheelersburg so please know I'm not trolling. It's a hard truth. If the majority of your kids are getting free lunches...

Re: Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
It's very easy to use one's self (or an individual one knows) as an example and assume that is the standard... Example: I know a guy who played two years of midget football, two of junior high, four of high school, three of college, and nine of semi-pro. He's in his mid-40s, still lifts weights, has...

Re: Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
http://www.brain-injury-law-center.com/latest-news/head-injuries-rugby-vs-football/ I don't think that anybody would dispute that rugby is also rough on the old noggin, but that's kind of a tangent argument... I'm also not familiar with the ages at which youth in the UK and the rest of the world st...

Please share, good sir.MTSWNGRVSG wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2017 8:12 pm Here is a question; what do they do in Northwestern Ohio where the dominate league is the MAC? Some may not like the answer.
Intelligent, thoughtful debate requires as much data as possible.

Re: Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
Teaching “good technique” can not eliminate the little dings that add up on a still-developing brain. It might reduce some things, but the game is the game. Also, all the teaching in the world will not counter the feedback a player gets when the crowd responds to a big-arse collision. Or the parents...

Re: Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
I honestly would love to know if a single HS coach would endorse pee-wee football.
I know most of them don’t feel that they could give their honest views because of the way parents would react to such views.

Re: Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
A colleague of mine texted me earlier today with the comment that...
“I don’t think the product we see on fridays has been better even though we keep playing at younger ages.”
I’ll never get it on here, but I would love to hear more HS coaches share their opinions on this.

Should Responsible Programs Eliminate Tackle Football at the Youth Level
Let's ask the tough questions... Is it irresponsible (in the light of health and safety concerns) for high school coaches to continue endorsing pee-wee and youth football program? I have talked to high school coaches who would rather just see kids play flag until middle school, and there are good re...

Will the game be counted as a forfeit or will it just be written off?
