Starters will be excellent. They will miss the depth, and a very good senior group, especially Huffman and Welch. Have to be the favorites going in.

Don't agree with league being worse. SG, Trimble, Miller, FH, Belpre will all improve. Waterford will drop off, but still the team to beat.

Miller returns a lot. If they can find a QB (maybe Starlin) they are going to be tough to beat. Southern and Waterford both have spots where they are going to be solid, but I believe both lost too much to beat the Falcons. Beyond these three, I see it as wide open.

Gibson is far from a one-man show. He is their stud on offense, but this will be the first two-platoon team FF will see this year. Best Dline an defense they have also faced. Warren would be a great addition. It would improve quality across the board, boys and girls. A lot of nice rivalries, and they will travel well. OHSAA must have owed FF a favor. Think this will be a tight one.

Never said anything about how they get their boys in. They have had kids come and go the past few years. Good luck to everyone in the region, but they will be faster than anyone has seen in this region all year.

Kids HP gains were sitting out 50% of year because of transfer rules. That is the same as anyone else. This will be a dogfight to see who comes out on top, but I would put my money on Harvest Prep because of their speed and schedule. Shadyside would be a second choice, also because of schedule.

Harvest Prep wins this region. Toughest schedule, and speed will blow by all teams in this region.

Steubenville-DeSales at Massillon in 05. We started under the cover of the home side, but wanted to move to guest side with more open seats. Should have stayed under cover. Almost went home after first game.

Big games this week with River-Toronto and Shadyside-Bellaire. I say River wins, and Bellaire in a close one.

When was the last time Belpre beat Trimble? 90's? Besides Wahama, who was the last Hocking team to beat Trimble? Their streak does not end this week. Trimble coaches light years ahead of Belpre.

Waterford and then everyone else. They will be able to go 12 deep, and not lose much. The battle for second will be wide open between Belpre, Miller, Southern, and Wahama. Very entertaining and competitive league, but I think everyone is looking up to the Wildcats.

Southern and Miller could sneak up on some people. More wide-open at the top than any time before.

I have posted before, nothing wrong with Hocking division. Good natural rivalries, enrollment within 30 kids of each other. Belpre is where they need to be. Love the comment about not winning anything in the Hocking. Check cross country, track, golf, wrestling, and only soccer program in Hocking.

A LOT of talk from the SOC. We will see the next couple of weeks!

Nice pick up. Better level of competition for Belpre compared to what they got from PC.
