Re: *Breaking* Oak Hill Officially Petitions TVC for Membership

What by-laws prevent Portsmouth from the SOC? I seriously dont know. I'm not so sure they want in the SOC after being denied so many times. IF Oak Hill leaves, I don't see the SOC going back to 2 conferences. SOC 3 competitive, the SOC 1 competitive with each other, but the SOC 2 is not. I think a p...

Re: Baseball soc 2

I'll rethink my Northwest prediction. But not based on a coaching change. They have been horrible the last several years against WB, Valley, West, SW, Waverly and Minford. Maybe 2-34 against them in the last 3 years (I think). So there are 12 losses potentially off NW's record. The fact remains that...

Re: 2024 West Senators

Heard he's a "pretty good" athlete, but didn't play at all last year and expects to go to Wheelersburg and be a premier rb? I hope the young man has success, I do, but to go from not playing at NW to being the top back in the area is a tall order. I'd say slow down on predictions and just...

Re: Valley football 2024

I believe 99% of the talk about Valley players transferring to West were done by someone other than the players themselves. I've posted before wondering what our team would look like if all those players were still here. But it's just a thought. Personally, a kid has only 4 years of high school, let...

Re: 2024 West Senators

Players need to enjoy High School Football and quit worrying about where they are gonna play in College. Fact is there probably isn’t a D2 Player in Scioto County in High School right now let alone D1. All of this “Get Noticed” stuff is comical. No College Coach is gonna put any stock in kids putti...

Re: 2024 West Senators

I think the kids themselves start the rumors because they like the attention and the feeling of being courted. Not 100% sure on all the initials but a few do not live in the district. They would have to sit back half of season. Personally this is high school. Play ball where you are at. If you want ...

Re: SOC2 2024

Valley finished the season with a lot of momentum and promise. Last I heard was they had big names numbers at power lifting. I heard some talk early in the season but that went away when the Indians started playing well. Valley's competition the last of the season had more to do with their success ...

Re: SOC to vote on 3 Football Divisions (Thurs.)

That looks about as good as I've seen. It gives Ironton football a competitive home and gives NW, OH and Valley a solid chance to compete as well. Who will not go for this alignment is Minford.

Re: SOC to vote on 3 Football Divisions (Thurs.)

Greygoose, I don't think I said if baseball and basketball made the change then POOF so could football. What I wrote was that I didn't understand how it could be done or even WHY it was done in basketball and baseball and football (which is the sport that needed the change) wasn't. Sounds like you m...

Re: SOC to vote on 3 Football Divisions (Thurs.)

I don't understand the expedience in getting 3 conferences for basketball and baseball where a split was not warranted. Competition in basketball and baseball was fairly even. Football is the only sport where there has been total dominance by a couple of schools and traditionally 2 others that have...

If you can't beat the best in the local area you don't deserve an invite to the dance anyway.
Then why are you inviting Minford?

Re: SOC to vote on 3 Football Divisions (Thurs.)

Never quite understood the SOC 1 and 2 being considered 1 conference. SOC 1 should take care of their affairs and SOC2 theirs. Also, non football schools shouldn't even have a say what conferences football school play football in. Besides, rumor has that the vote was shadier than 2020's Mail in and ...

Re: SOC to vote on 3 Football Divisions (Thurs.)

Gate money makes sense in basketball and other sports when you play a home/away series. Football you have a Wheelersburg gate once every 2 years and same for the others. I don't buy into that at all. It's not a West/Wheelersburg gate it's Valley taking an L. To me, producing a winner gets a bigger g...
