Re: 3/24 Fairland vs. Villa- Angela St. Joseph's (2017 Final Four)
Anyone see this article about VASJ vs Northwestern? It has been taken down Here's the article: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:sLEvIdfBossJ:www.thepostnewspapers.com/northern_wayne/sports/northwestern_sports/huskies-all-class-win-or-lose/article_7e1cad20-2784-50ba-8834-582de730...

Re: 3/24 Fairland vs. Villa- Angela St. Joseph's (2017 Final Four)
To start with trying to compare WV to Ohio when it comes to private vs Public Schools is like comparing the firepower of a BB Gun to a 30-06..... I'll say this for the last time. Several Public Schools recruit just like the privates do ....My god Ironton did for years...They were the Lawrence count...

Re: 3/24 Fairland vs. Villa- Angela St. Joseph's (2017 Final Four)
Maybe our Local Schools should do that. Designate Schools for academics and musical programs and athletics and elementary students go to the best suited for them in that area. The problem with this is that you have several BOEs versus a singular administrative unit like in Cincy, Columbus, or even ...

Re: 3/24 Fairland vs. Villa- Angela St. Joseph's (2017 Final Four)
The argument from the private schools is the distance they would have to drive to play other private schools during season and that was not something they wanted to have their student athletes endure. Now I am not sure if that is a valid concern or point, but something that state's private schools ...

My Sentimental Favorite For The Boys Tournament? — The Fairland Dragons
Sonny Fulks wrote this wonderful piece for PressProsMagazine.com. I wanted to share it with you all as I feel it captures the spirit of my little hometown on the banks of the Ohio. When the Fairland Dragons, from Proctorville, Ohio, a Division III representative from Lawrence County, shows up to pla...

Re: 3/24 Fairland vs. Villa- Angela St. Joseph's (2017 Final Four)
I know I'm a little biased, but I think this team is incredibly special. They've beaten some great opponents this year (including the WV AAA State Champion, Huntington High) and I really think that as long as they keep their heads focused and play ball like they know how to they will win this game. ...

Re: 3/18 Fairland vs. Hiland
Worst part is no matter if my Dragons win or Hiland wins more than likely the get Cleveland Villa Angela-St. Joseph for their chance to play for the state championship! Huge task for either team or anyone for that matter. VASJ has to get by Northwestern first, so don't go counting Viking eggs befor...

I think Fairland's size and ability to control game tempo will be what helps them punch their ticket to Columbus.

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
This topic requires nuance. You are absolutely right. However, it also takes consistency. IMO, I think the end result of any policy needs to be education. While these kids are still in junior high/high school, it's the responsibility of the school system to help the parents educate kids about stuff...

Re: High School Athlete Drug Testing
All school personnel must be included in a drug free school system and if a teacher, non teacher or any administrator test comes back positive they must be terminated and the students needs to be on in school expulsion! One strike any you are out! SOOO, according to your plan you just throw your ha...

Re: 3/15 Sweet 16: Sugarcreek Garaway vs Fairland
Fairland won the first game pretty handily. That being said, Garaway has some pretty solid wins on their resume as well against Malvern (D-IV) and Hiland (D-III) who are also in the Sweet 16. I think as long as the Dragons keep a level head, and play like they are capable of playing, I think they wi...

Re: Convo updates Fairlane vs South Point 3-11 6pm
I only watched Fairland twice too and observed the same thing. You Dragon fans can flame me, but it is a sign of a STUPID coach. Games can get chippy at the end, especially when the team losing knows it is their last game with ZERO to lose and tempers can flare. If one of your starters goes down wi...

Re: Convo updates Fairlane vs South Point 3-11 6pm
Fairland ever rest players for next game and give bench minutes for experience? I've watched them twice with 30 point lead and kept starters in. Now tonite If you look at the team's stats over the season, you'll notice that while there are some central players that are on the floor a lot (Howell, V...
