Re: 23 Regional Final: Fort Frye (12-0) vs Newark Catholic (8-4)

I was being objective regarding the NC-FY. game but now I'll be subjective, as I have every right to be a NC fan as much as you do a Ft. Frye fan. Ft. Frye has a chance. That's all I'll say out of respect for the players. They have a chance and that's about it. This sounds like what I thought was a ...

Re: 23 Regional Final: Fort Frye (12-0) vs Newark Catholic (8-4)

Fort Frye has never even played Grandview Heights in football. River did in 2015 and this year they came back in stronger with a loaded Sr class. I'm obviously not a players dad I'm actually a loyal fan of my team and mod of this website. Since you've been on this site you've done nothing but make ...

Re: 23 Regional Final: Fort Frye (12-0) vs Newark Catholic (8-4)

Chalito - I was fortunate to play for NC back in the 80's and I can assure you that we had less transfers then than there are now. And typically those who transferred in couldn't cut it. And before certain posters start jumping all over me about transfers what I mean is getting kids from other Cath...

Re: 23 Regional Final: Fort Frye (12-0) vs Newark Catholic (8-4)

I have been to a Lakewood playoff game and to a Utica playoff game. Sorry man. I obviously missed it. What were the years and what is their complete playoff record. Just curious. Also, did you miss Northridge or have they also made the playoffs. Also, have you ever played any level of organized foo...

Re: 23 Regional Final: Fort Frye (12-0) vs Newark Catholic (8-4)

I am entitled to my opinion and I share it with 80% of high school sports fans in Ohio. Good luck Fort Frye beat the private school from Newark. NC had some really good transfers in the earlier years. With football now being more competitive than it was in the 70's and 80's, many of the players sta...

Re: Regional Final #1.Waterford vs #7. Harvest Prep

This will be a good game. Raw talent at Prep and a program that will begin to dominate D7 in the years to come if they stay D7. They may have to make the jump to D6 next year after competitive balance is sorted out.

It's not real Complicated. If Ft. Frye can stop Gibson, they win this game pretty handily. If they can't it will probably come down to who has the ball last. If Ft Frye stops Gibson, 28-7 Ft Frye. If they can't, 42-35 toss up.

Re: Reg 23: 5.Newark Catholic (7-4) vs 8.Bishop Ready (8-3)

You are right about the Ready back. If he was healthy, NC would have had a much more difficult time in regulation. I'm sure the Ft. Frye coaching staff will be preparing for the Man, at NC. If they can gang tackle and get to him before he gets started, Ft Frye has a really good chance to win this ga...

Re: 23 Regional Final: Fort Frye (12-0) vs Newark Catholic (8-4)

How does everyone see this great game? Just my opinion. NC has one player that has been absolutely the most dominant player in the history of NC Gibson is a very good high school player but is not close to the most dominant player for NC. I married into the NC family in 1991. Rob Kelly was by far t...

Re: Reg 23 #8 Bishop Ready (7-3) @ #1 River (9-0)

Just saying that as far as NC football goes, this man is the most dominant single player NC has ever had in the history of the program. That is not close to being true, though he is good, really good. OK, fair enough. Name another player in the history of the program that has been as dominating as ...

Re: Reg 23 #8 Bishop Ready (7-3) @ #1 River (9-0)

For the most part Ready stopped N.C do everything back and they did not win. So are you saying that he did not block a kick? Are you saying that he did not come up with a huge defensive play on the first play of overtime (Remember, he typically does not play defense)? Are you saying that he did not...

Gotta give a lot of credit to the do everything RB, Linebacker, kick blocker who caught the winning TD pass. Huge difference maker in small school football. Be an good game next week between NC and Ft. Frye. If Ft. Frye can stop NC's do everything back, Ft. Frye wins handily.

Re: Reg 23 #8 Bishop Ready (7-3) @ #1 River (9-0)

Counts were finalized this past October. Ready will go D5 in football and D3 in baseball and basketball as will most of the Columbus, Cincy and Cleveland smaller privates because of vouchers in those city districts. NC will probably be close. It will be determined by the number of schools and the ch...

Re: Reg 23 #8 Bishop Ready (7-3) @ #1 River (9-0)

I think Ready takes this game by at least a TD or two. Ready has overcome NC as far as private school tradition and consistency over the past 10 years. NC's expectations have gone from winning state titles to making the playoffs. That is pretty much what seems to come from the NC crowd. They now de...
