Re: 3/4 Warren v Logan Elm or Unioto
Marietta fan here, but I think Warren wins this one going away. LE has had a nice run but they were seeded where they were for a reason, and I think they will be outmanned by Warren.

Re: 2024 Interview with Former VC HFC and new caoch at Zanesville TJ Carper
Let’s go over some facts. - Yes, Tj took the job at Zanesville - Yes, he’s going to commute everyday as I did just take a head coaching position at Vinton County and the kids and I do not want to leave right now. - Tj felt like this was the best thing for him and his coaching career. He builds, res...

Re: 3/4 Marietta v New Lexington
I’m thinking that Marietta’s size and length will be a major factor in the game. Should be a good one

Re: 2/24 #1 Marietta vs #9 Fairfield Union (Sectional Final @ Warren)
Tough game for the most part but Marietta really pulled away. They were very very tough for the last stretch. Played excellent defense the whole time.

Re: 2/24 #1 Marietta vs #9 Fairfield Union (Sectional Final @ Warren)
Nervous about this one, I think because of last year...though Marietta in Year 2 under Gardner is very much improved. Tiger guards need to continue playing the way they are, especially Lieres-Kelley. Feel he is the difference. Expecting a good game.
Re: TSL 2024
If Tvc and TSL had a challange the TSL would go 4-0 Warren vs VC Marietta vs Athens Fort vs Nelsonville Point vs Eastern I’d hope a school the size of point would beat Eastern! Not sure Warren would’ve beaten VC last year. Marietta barely beat Athens. I’ll give you Fort over NY easily. When is the ...

Re: Warren 47 Logan 33 a final
So, the only objective of basketball is to score? Hmmmm… I wonder why they play defense then. Probably should just make a rule against playing defense. Then there probably won’t be a need for the shot clock. I see you have the same level of intelligent insight as Noreply66. You guys shoul...

Re: Fairfield Union @ Meigs - Tuesday
Meigs did all they could. Actually pretty remarkable playing with just 5 players. Only sub they had was a big man at the 5 position. 4 players out, 3 of which were starters and leading scorers. Only 1 senior on the floor tonight. Injury bug has been horrible to this team. Boys played with heart and...

Re: Marietta vs Gallia Academy
Agreed, I was also really impressed with the defensive effort. Need to keep guarding like that and they can make a run.

Re: Warren 47 Logan 33 a final
Sounds like when you are playing football and anything that's not a no huddle is not football????? Huh? The objective of basketball is to score. By holding the ball, you are not trying to score. Therefore you are not playing the game the way it was intended. Hence the need for a shot clock...so tha...

Re: Marietta vs Gallia Academy
Marietta dominated start to finish. Raced out to a double digit lead and never looked back. GA has some really solid athletes but are not anywhere near as skilled as the Tigers. Marietta's length also really bothered GA.

Re: Warren 47 Logan 33 a final
Holding the ball has always been around. Next people will want to stop putting up a defense so we can have an NBA type all Star game. The forward pass also used to be illegal in football...sometimes rule changes are good. Holding the ball is not real basketball. You can play slow and limit possessi...

Re: Rivalries in the SE
Marietta and Warren have been great rivals for years. Gyms are always packed for that one. +1 Marietta vs Warren is always a hard fought game with great crowds. Even when Marietta has been overmatched for the past decade+. There a some very good teams standing in their way, but a Marietta/Warren di...

Re: Warren 47 Logan 33 a final
They really need to get a shot clock in HS basketball. Holding the ball is so dumb. This game would not have even been this close if Logan didn’t hold it the whole first quarter

Re: Marietta vs Gallia Academy
Not the easiest first round matchup for a #1 seed, but the Tigers should be able to take care of business with relative ease. Like where they're at headed into the tournament. Especially like the way Elyjah Lieres-Kelley is playing at the point for Marietta. To me, he is the major x-factor. If he's ...

Re: Best Players in SE Ohio 2000 era
Ben Howlett was a great player at Marietta and the all-time leading scorer at the school. Went on to have an outstanding career as a 4-year starter at West Liberty (top 10 D2 program). I believe he was ~ Top 5 in the nation in scoring his junior or senior year. And now an excellent coach.
