Re: Early next season SOC predictions
Probably unless Symmes Valley snuck one in there. I've never once said Clay or Notre Dame aren't the teams to beat. I just also acknowledge that programs like Eastern, New Boston and Green aren't really pushovers anymore. People get stuck on one or two schools and guess what.. kids read these forum...

Re: Early next season SOC predictions
I wonder what trophy your kid didn't get. You've been all over this trophy thing for a while. There hasn’t been a trophy that I felt my daughters haven’t received that they deserved that they didn’t get. I have never stepped foot on a field to coach them on a team either. I work with both of them a...

Re: Early next season SOC predictions
Pretty sure Notre Dame handled Green this year in Junior High. I don’t think it is a debate that ND and Clay are going to be the top two teams for the next few years to come. They have a solid team currently and continue to have more talent coming up behind each class through the JH. SV has a lot o...

Re: What’s the holdup on releasing the SOC all conference teams ?
Other than 8 missing periods , a few question marks , improper spacing , misspelled words , there VS their VS theyre Prime Time offers a solid take on the situation . We all have to remember that many of the coaches does not hold college degrees. I know schools have to post the coaching jobs, but m...

Re: What Senior girls has the most homeruns
Football players used leather helmets at one time but that’s not the case anymore. Softball doesn’t use wooden bats anymore either.

Re: Slow am at work , so a word about getting recruited .
Great post, I coach at an NAIA school (not softball, but I coach track). I do pretty well in recruiting, but I don't want a kid unless they are seriously interested in our school itself, not just the track program. And yes!! to the GPA/ACT scores. That will get you way more money than you think it ...

Re: What Senior girls has the most homeruns
Seems like the fences are a lot closer these days. Looks like a lot of fences came in from around 250 feet to 200 feet ...........and metal bats. Metal bats have always been used in softball but technology is increasing. People are learning how to change the bat so it has more of a pop to it. You r...

Re: What’s the holdup on releasing the SOC all conference teams ?
There is a real simple solution to the problem of voting for these awards. If they would just publish each coach’s votes, they would then be held accountable for who they voted for. I know that won’t happen because they want to vote to be private so they can have those water cooler talks. We even ha...

Re: What’s the holdup on releasing the SOC all conference teams ?
All kids put in the work and should be recognized from that team equally divided among the league teams. seen this before and Coachs from conference knows the best since they are around kids every day. This is what is wrong with team sports these days thinking since all kids put in the work then th...

Re: What Senior girls has the most homeruns
Why does people complain about a tiny field because there is minimum field sizes that everyone must obey. If a school has a field that has longer fences than that is the school’s fault and not the kid.

Re: What’s the holdup on releasing the SOC all conference teams ?
It will definitely be an interesting read when the awards are released. I can not believe a team goes undefeated the entire season and not have the coach of the year award. I believe the girl from the Burg who pitches is young but that is no excuse. The best player at each position should be the one...

Re: Early next season SOC predictions
You say you can’t compare but didn’t SV and Green face off with those two pitchers? Who won those games? I know SV had the Webb girl and you like to blame your team was young but you can compare the two pitchers. I know we can’t compare the Clay Freshman coming up yet but you did say you saw her pit...

Re: Early next season predictions.
East didn't show a lot at Jr High this year. But there's rumors of a Sr jumping ship and going to them to pitch. New Boston has a girl who will take a couple years. Green has a pitcher coming up, she handled the SOC1 teams in Jr High, got dominated by Burg, Welston and so on. I did see the Clay Fre...

Re: What’s the holdup on releasing the SOC all conference teams ?
If they don’t publish the names then they don’t have to answer to who wins the conference awards. I’m sure there was a lot of water cooler talk when they did the voting.

Re: Early next season predictions.
I believe Green will be much improved and isn’t Portsmouth in ovc. What’s up with program year in and out seems that they are consistently at bottom and very few wins. Valley will surprise also. I seen Green play a couple and they don’t have the pitching. Do they have any pitching coming up from JH...

Thanks. That's the way I was reading it was only if he was transferring into the school district. The new transfer rules started after the student moves to another school after the first day of their Hs career. The parents still move in the district and the kid isn’t penalized. There are other exce...

Re: Eligibility Question
ACT and GPA by far more important than BA or ERA. D1 currently can have no more than 12 scholarships per year. D2 7 each and NAIA 10. That's not to say there might not be other endowed dollars. Plus you get hurt this year your athletic scholarship might not be there next year. See the athletic scho...

Re: Early next season predictions.
Just throwing this out for fun. The season just ended, let's see what everyone thinks the forecast is for NEXT season. I'm just doing a top 5. SOC 1 1. Notre Dame - Coin flip with them and Clay but I'm going to take them at 1 with another year of progress from Schaeffer. 2. Clay - Could EASILY stil...
