Re: SVC 22-23

I agree PV will be tough this year. Piketon and Huntington looked pretty even at the SOC/SVC classic at Huntington. Huntington had a tough loss against Western, missed layup in the last minute to go up by 2. I don’t see either team towards the top of the league but should be battling it out for the ...

Re: SVC 2023 LEAGUE PROJECTIONS

I agree my opinion is only based on game time coaching, behind the scenes may be a different story, but I thought the Adena coach did a decent job last year. They lost a couple close games that very easily could've went either way. As far as league standings ZT will be the favorite this season, I do...

Re: SOC 2 LEAGUE PROJECTIONS

I believe Minford, Valley, and Webster are in their own category this year. Following those three I could see Burg, West, EP, Northwest battling it out. Wasn’t able to see Oak Hill much last year and Waverly is way down. I will say some people around Waverly have said they have some decent athletes ...

Re: SOC 1 2023 LEAGUE PROJECTIONS

I have been a long time follower of Pike County athletics and wish Western the best of luck this season however if they are the clear favorites this year it really shows how down the SOC I will be this season. This years team in Latham will be much less talented than the teams they have had the last...

Re: Coaching Openings

No one in the SOC I was complaining that Eastern was too big and needed to go to the SOC II, unlike the way I have heard people talk about Unioto in the SVC. I don't recall anytime in the past 15 years Eastern dominated the SOC I the way Unioto has dominated the SVC with the exception of volleyball ...

Re: Coaching Openings

It will be interesting to see if a Beaver local will be interested or if they'll search for an outsider. I know PJ Fitch had a good run while at Eastern but didn't leave on good terms. Other than PJ no other past coaches come to mind as possible candidates but I might be overlooking someone. If East...

Re: Western vs Hiland REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Hiland applies a lot of pressure out top similar to Western. I was impressed with Miller and Detweiler but I think this is a much different Hiland team than in the past and they will not have enough fire power to keep up with the Western Indians. Hiland has escaped multiple close calls but won't thi...

Re: D2 Regional Semi Waverly (1 Seed) vs McClain (2 Seed)

I don't see this game being as close as some are predicting. Robertson is going to go off as usual and the surrounding cast will take care of the rest. Waverly by 14.

Re: Regional Semi-Final: Valley vs Western

Based off only watching Valley twice both being against Waverly and Valley giving the Tigers all they wanted through the majority of both games I see them being a much tougher matchup for Western. Although it should be noted that Valley did have close games to Piketon which Western blewout early and...

Re: Biggest GYMs in SEO and would you pay 25 for all day convo pass

Piketon was good inside. The parking area And getting out of town with district games would be a nightmare though. It took like 20 minutes to get from Wellston high to 32 last night. And that was after the 20 minute wait to get out of the lot Agree 100%, parking at Wellston was terrible. I don't en...

Re: District Finals…Valley vs Fairfield

Fairfield will make this a game but I don't see them having enough pieces to overcome the Indians. I agree with Oldhead depending on how the refs call could be a major change of outcome in this game. Valley by 10.

Re: District Championship …Trimble vs Western

It is interesting I have heard people talking about Western's strength of schedule going into Fed. Hock. and this game. Western having wins early with Piketon, Paint Valley, and Ripley (all games that weren't close) should quiet some of that. I know this is irrelevant come tourney time though. Its a...

Re: Head Coaching Vacancies

Glad to see Doug coming back to Pike County, I would definitely consider this a big splash hire for Western. Hopefully Doug is the long term coach Western has been looking for, it's nice seeing local guys coach both Western and Piketon!

Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon

I’m sure Robertson loves having Kyle open up the gym for him, helping him with practices, break down film, etc. I’ve just known Robertson to long to see him changing thoughts much when it comes to in game decisions. Since this thread is about Piketons coaching job opening up I personally would like ...

Right I never said head coaches shouldn’t listen to their assistants but by grey gooses post on Kyle having as much input as Robertson is saying he basically coaches the team already. Clear difference there so I don’t get your point

Re: 3/10 5PM Sheridan (19-5) v Jackson (17-7)

I like Jackson in this one, their style is a lot different than waverlys so I think it’s hard to compare the two. I think their defense can hold Sheridan and keep it close. Jackson 47-43 in a nail biter!

Re: Evan Legg Steps Down From Piketon

I believe it’ll be Kyle Miller taking over the helm at Piketon, and if anyone caught any of Piketon’s Freshman & Jv games this year they would know that the talent is there, the freshman class from this year will have several kids competing for starting spots next season as well as 6-7th man. Y...

Remington is not a point guard, but he guards the opposing teams point guard. Held least to 4 Wallis to 6 and I can’t remember how many Williams had the first game of the year but it wasn’t many. 2 of leists points and 3 of wallises was when Remington was taking a rare breather. For my money give m...

Re: 2/20 Waverly Sectional Semi-Finals

I'm really excited to watch this second game tonight! I was able to see West Union early and they can play. I was really impressed with thier ball movement and the way they shot the ball. Huntington is on a roll though and thats all it takes come tourney time. Predicting Western by 12 and West Union...
