Re: 2019 Wheelersburg Pirates

Still sports should foster an environment of fairness and loyalty. If adults and school districts allow this type of behavior what are we teaching kids? Hey if you don't like something you don't have to work to make it the best you can be, just move around until you find the easy way out. Also in hi...

Re: Licking County League expansion

I think 16 is a little too far out... You are probably not going to get Newark, Mount Vernon just joined a new league so maybe if they are unhappy, probably not going to get New Albany so now to get to 16 you are going to have to stretch to teams like Cambridge and Logan that don't have a conference...

Re: The Rivalry-Rich Football of Southeastern Ohio

I would say we don't still have beef with Miller from 97/98. I think they are a little lucky we didn't finish that game because NY would have been out for some revenge for the actions that took place at halftime. Buckeyes might have been able to move on a little bit faster if the game would have bee...

Johnstown runs a lot of midline, inside veer, outside veer, speed option, RPOs, etc.

Re: Next Coach at Logan?

The assistant at Johnstown interviewed when this came open last time. I think he felt he was only interviewed because they thought he was the head coach at Johnstown. I don't think he applied, his son is in 4th grade now and too involved now with the youth league and coaching his son and his current...

Re: 2019 Wheelersburg Pirates

Kudos to Ironton, but let's be real... Maybe Johnstown didn't play their best game and Ironton played like a team clawing from losing back to back close games. Maybe Jtown took them a little lightly? A motivated Johnstown team playing Burg coming off a tough victory against Madison. It's not a video...

Orrville drove 20 minutes, had the home side and the covered seats can't tell me they didn't have a slight advantage.

Re: 2018 OHSAA State Final Football Games Attendance Down

If the crew get a new stadium ohsaa should buy the old one, put turf in and play a Thursday, Friday and Saturday football game of the week and soccer games Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Saturday games of the week every week. Then host playoff games all weekend and state championships there for all fi...

Re: Playoff news and notes. State Finals Edition!

We need to find another venue like Jackson with a little more seating for some of the smaller division, the Band seemed so far away and the stadium is not loud at all maybe better if they enclose the other side but the acoustics were not good for a loud playoff game! My thoughts

Re: Playoff news and notes. State Finals Edition!

I thought I read in the program at the game that a non-finals game record was around 7000. Most were in the 5000s. I think that game could at least be on the list. Thanks!

Sounds like #29 is a great kid. All I ever saw out of him on the field was class. I don't think I saw him do anything unsportsmanlike or "look at me". He seemed to be a great sport out there. Wish him the best and good luck to him in the recruiting process for college.

Re: Where does Logan go from here?

I'm not discrediting the Logan program in their development 7-12, just saying they played in Nelsonville because Logan did not have tackle football far as I remember and im just jealous they didn't play in Nelsonville. My point was I don't remember much other success out of Logan in the post season...

Any possibility the Johnstown vs. Wheelersburg game will make an attendance record for non state finals or does the semi-final not count in that? Anyone know what the final attendance was? For DV the biggest game was 7000 something.

Re: Division IV and V Football All-Ohio Teams Announced

I'd be interested in counting how many players each playoff team got. Johnstown had 6 all State players (2 1st, 2 2nd, 0 3rd 2 HM). Seems like a couple short. #70 and #47 were snubs cuz they have been lights out in the playoffs!

Re: Final 4: Wheelersburg vs. Johnstown

Yes, and it seemed they were lacking leadership at times. Someone that could rally the team when they were flat. I do think Burg got caught looking ahead to next week and put too much focus on last week’s game possibly? I never knew The coaching staff to allow so much pomp and circumadtance around ...

Re: Final 4: Wheelersburg vs. Johnstown

How many Senior starters does Johnstown have on each side of the ball? Good luck, bring a State Championship to Region 19 (the weakest in D5 according to some :) ) Offense: 7 Defense:5 Johnstown has been a two platoon system hiatorically. this is first time in a long time maybe since their d coordi...
