Re: Best coach in SEO
Norm chases talent. He don’t go nowhere that isn’t loaded. Howie builds them from the ground up. I hope they meet up soon and Howie will show you who’s the best. I just know he will. Norm isn’t chasing anything. He’s just trying to get a comfortable seat courtside and probably make some changes at ...

Re: Best coach in SEO
I’m sure all the other fellas mentioned are fine coaches. But Howie did it at all four schools he coached at. He rebuilt three of those from seller dweller to the top. He’s won at places no one ever had. He’s hands down the best. Over a career it's Norm Persin and Howie isn't close. Let me know whe...

I've always liked Coach Knipp, but that Peake program has been bad for several years now. What is the deal?

Re: 2022-23 Fairland Lady Dragons (27-0 | 14-0 OVC)
Looking at the final stats, it was a pretty even game except for shooting percentages. In all three categories, FTs, FGs, and treys, Fairland shot just less than 60% of what Canal Fulton's percentage was. My question is was that more due to the CF defense or the wide open expanse of the venue? Fair...

Re: Peake scoring leader.
I would suggest check Sammy gue's stats as he was a 4yr starter on the 98 team that lost to Sparta highland in in the regional finals in ot bc of an incident very similar to what happened to wheelersburg against Sparta highland in 92 regional final on the same type of technical where a Sparta playe...

Re: Peake scoring leader.
We do know Nathan Copley's points and Levi passed that mark. If records somewhere can show us something different then please show us. For now congratulations to Levi. I'm with you. You have to go off what you have. Sorry, didn't mean the derail Levi's accomplishment, he's deserving and I am happy ...

Re: Peake scoring leader.
How is Davis going to post that he is the all time leading scorer for Chesapeake. That’s just how arrogant he is. There was a lot of big scorers before Davis ever graced his face at The peake. I’m not saying scoring that many ain’t an accomplishment at all because it’s great. But I’d like to see th...

Re: Peake scoring leader.
I spoke with Norm znd he did leave all the books. He thought that it was PJ Rase. Nathan Copley according to newspaper is who Levi passed for lead. Norm said whoever was in lead would have to have been a starter as a freshmen. If he did the current admins don't have it. To my knowledge they don't h...

Re: Peake scoring leader.
What a great career for Levi. I'm curious though, has this been confirmed that he is the leading scorer? I haven't seen anything from the school saying Levi broke the record, and to my knowledge I am not sure the Norm players stats are actually available. There were some really high scoring players ...

really makes you wonder how someone like parker with that kinda talent didn't really push it in the next level. . . . mike hunt the same, . . . everyone hits their peeks at different times. . . anyone around chesapeake could always show you luke beach. . . best freshman i've ever seen in highschool...

Re: 20 YEARS of WINNING...commitment, competence, & competitiveness
Norm Persin at Chesapeake averaged 20+ wins a season for 20 years. Also had two undefeated 20-0 regular seasons.

This is a great list. Hard to argue against any of these guys. I loved Mount, very athletic swing man (baseline), but he didn't have the tools Austin McMaster had. Hard to leave off Delimpo too. All good picks though

Re: Norm Persin to retire after this season
Being that we are on a Basketball topic, I understand that this could be debated and never really settled, but I also think that he ( Kyle Ondera ) was the best athlete to ever come out of Jackson County. I would also bet that if someone were to ask Norm who was the best kid that ever played for hi...

Re: Norm Persin to retire after this season
His most overachieving season was his first in 2006-07. At one point, that team was 7-9. 7-2 down the stretch. I know that the 2008-09 season that Oak Hill won the State Championship with an amazing run and maybe the best athlete in Jackson County history (Ondera) but he had some unbelievable teams...
