This picture is also from the
year book and is my favorite one, it was taken immediately
after the game. The newspaper article says that
Yogi Wayland, the catcher made the final out when he caught a
foul pop up. The game was played on the
Ohio State University
Varsity
diamond. I can only identify two other players in this picture;
Jr. Rowley with
his hands on Yogi's shoulders, and
Steve Bailey
#12 with his side to the camera.
There are two
newspaper clippings in Jr.'s scrap book, one has this picture
with an article. The other has a picture of HUGE CELEBRATION MARKS
RETURN OF STATE BASEBALL CHAMPS - Thousands Hail Jacket Nine
During Welcome Home
Parade.
The team was loaded into the back
of a large truck with
side rails that was "'at the head of a mile long caravan
through
Pomeroy and Middleport". If there is any interest I will try
to scan them.
