It's gonna be a battle for the Dogs. I am going with Watkins by a couple of scores. (I hope I'm wrong)

With the Bulldogs offense ... they could win by 20 - or get beat by 20 ... its all about the QB being accurate - and if his recievers catch the ball.

If Athens has patched the holes in the Defense they will be there at the end

It may be all about the defense. They can't give up 52 points again. If they do that means the young quarterback will be forced to throw.

They throw every down anyway greatone ... Athens is ALL SHOTGUN and pass, pass, pass ... they do it on the very first down and throughout the game ... the problem with that is they have to many three-and-outs, which puts the defense back on the field too quickly and too often ... the loss of starting RB Freddie Stalder hurt the Bulldogs - they really needed him AND Trae Williams to give the green-and-gold at least a little balance.

If I knew anything about Watkins - I may agree - but I don't have a clue what they have ... all I remember about playing Watkins is they have MICHIGAN WOLVERINE HELMETS and wear blue & maze colors ... and for that - I will pick the 'Dogs to outscore them 46-44 ...

Unfortunately, due to technical problems at Watkins, we will be unable to bring the Athens game on 970 WATH this week. We will still bring you every other Athens game on the 2012 slate.

Watkins has a boatload of talent without the results.

This team should win this game by a few scores but with the way things go over there this one will be close.

Watkins,34-27.

Congrats on the win Bulldogs,

Athens will take the win 62 -54, but something has to be done with the defense, giving up 106 points in two games is not a good thing............Well at least for us it's not a good thing.

They will have time to improve the Defense. They play a Warren team next week that is all QB. They lost most if their skill players. Athens should be Ok for a while this season. They will learn quickly. They have a good staff.

I'm a little worried about this season's Defense. Don't get me wrong, these Bulldogs have some very talented players, young players at that. But giving up back to back games in the 50's for a Defense is just mind boggling. I would also like to see some more under center but call me old fashion I know that is not this teams m/o.

Looks like the staff has the Offense going, might spend 2 days this week strictly on Defense...

Big Games coming up.
Warren Warriors at Home...
Jackson Ironmen at Jackson...

On a side note, Athens JV pulled a 43 - 7 victory against Watkins today, they are now 3-0, and what a class act the Leurhman bros. are. They were on the sidelines supporting their sophomore and junior teammates they have played ball with since third grade, also today, running water to the team during timeouts. Kudos to Ryan and Adam.

Almost forgot...... we actually kicked a field goal....... I was totally freaked out

So the crowd needs to start yelling OFFENSE instead of DEFENSE now. LOL. Sounds like a great offense and besides Jackson they shouldn't lose another game especially in the TVC.

Warren is no slouch ... and don't right off Nelsonville-York off just yet in week 10 ... oh yea, a trip to Meigs is never easy, I don't care how good the team is.
