I look for Marietta to take this one unless Leffingwell get hot and goes 35 out of 50

This will be a very interesting game like it always is. In my mind it doesn’t get much better than Marietta Warren football week. In my opinion both teams are down from where they were last year. Marietta losses baker, Gearheart and futrelll as significant team leaders and filled the skilled positions on last years team. It will be interesting who fills the roles of these players; because these three players carried the tigers on what little they did last year. Marietta struggled with Morgan which Morgan isn’t a very strong ball club. Warren on the other hand I believe will be favored in this one but not by much. They lost some very talented player’s last year and very significant leader’s Henthorn, Harlow, Hastie, Fivecoat to name a few. As for warren it will be interesting who if any one steps up and takes the role of the leader of this team. How can you be dead for a Friday night football game!!!! I felt that when warren stepped on the field against Philo. A big hole I seen in the warriors was last year when their offence couldn’t score, which was often there defense was very stout and kept them in every game. This year there defense is not going to be able to do that against the better teams such as Jackson, Gallia and Athens. I believe they will get away with it in this game and they will get the win against ETTA 27-21. I hate to be a hater but if warrior nation doesn’t get this win I don’t what ones they will get this season.

While the Warriors were lack-luster, seemed-sluggish, whatever. The game was almost opposite of last year with Philo playing dropsie with the ball. When on the last scoring drive, "the Spread", took them right down the field. Vincent and Ryan give the Warriors the tall and can go-get-it receivers. Maybe, just maybe they should consider utilizing the pass more, Leffingwell does need to bring the ball down in the range of any other receiver though, Miller & Barnes (very nice move-ins from Frontier the Barnes Brothers). Nothing on the field that cannot be fixed in practice this week. And this is the Tigers coming to town. so I will be very surprised if there is anyone flat this week.

So, that being said, Warren by at least 17 this week. Defensive front needs to hold its ground and not get pushed back into LB's feet. With a week behind them the relatively rookie backfield should give a much better showing of itself.

Here's hoping the Warriors have a great week of practice, and get those first week bugs worked out. Always a huge rivalry game regardless. Emotions always are high and hopefully this will fuel the Warriors for their first win. Someone really needs to step up and lead this team. GO WARRIORS!!!!!

Auburn I agree, the spread could really open up the running game and give Leffingwell an opportunity to hit some short routes. Their running game looked good with opening up big holes but we just could not hold onto the ball. They get the fumbles taken care of we have a chnace to win a few games this year. I think Warren wins this one 42 - 38. Last one with the ball wins.

GO WARRIORS!!

Nice 3rd quarter for the Warriors. Three and out for Marietta then a nice touchdown drive by Warren they made the two point conversion. That was followed by a pick six for the Warriors and and a fake extra point and the two point conversion was good for a 22-7 Warren lead. Another interception lead to good field postion but Warren missed the FG attempt.

35-7 Warren 3 minutes to go. Marietta turnovers were the story of this game as Warren took advantage and changed the momentum with them 3 interceptions and a fumble in the second half. Warren offense looked good late but they have a ways to go.

Chas Miller set the tone for the second half with a viscious tackle on the kickoff and then his 3rd sack of the game. After that it was all Warriors.

Scoop have to agree Miller was a thorn in the side of the Tigers all night. Playing both ways had its toll, he was all in before the last FG attempt. I believe that he and Barrows and one other are all going old school football. High humidity just took it out of them by end of game. Some good halftime adjustments, but this week better be all about secondary and finding a way to stop the pass of the Bulldogs. 64 points, but they gave up 53, so we had better have the loooooong offensive series to keep them on the sidelines and go dime coverage to make them beat us on the ground or it could be an even longer night for us. I haven't seem any spark of being able to sustain a who has the ball last offensive score fest.

Warren obviously played a lot better week 2. The first half of this somewhat resembled the game against Philo, but in the second half the warriors turned it on and play some football. If warrior nation wants to have a winning season this year they cannot have the first half red zone turnovers. You have to make those possessions count when you get there, especially against better teams such as Jackson, Gallia, Athens. Realistically Marietta was there only pushover game on the schedule. From here on out it’s only going to get tougher. It’s seemed to me it took about a game and one half to get the jitters out. The second half started with miller making a statement hit and Jake Powell’s interception for a touchdown from there on out it was all warren. Imo not bashing any being because I am a diehard Warrior but if a team has no emotional leaders; then your leaders are the guys that step up in the games and make big plays. I believe a group of guys stepped up and did that and will do a great job. I really liked the energy throughout the whole game keep it up guys on to Athens which scored 64 points better bring the D warrior nation.
