Neeed to show improvement, But Northland has speed and if you let them score first look out SPEED KILLS! The defense cannot let them have the corners. This will be a mind and physical (speed) test for the young Chiefs.

Northland & speed? Oh, I got a bad feeling about this game. If Hurricane Isaac shows up over SE Ohio Friday night, it might slow them down some but it might keep my cranky old butt inside listening to the radio!

We know who will have the speed advantage in this one but I think Logan takes this for their first victory,Northland is just an average to below average city league team.I seriously doubt Northland will be anywhere near as big as Lancaster so that should help. They need this one bad, I saw one of the boys crying outside the locker room last night so they got to get an early season win to get some confidence back and these next 2 weeks is just what the doctor ordered :122245

Just an FYI this is the fastest team Logan has had on the field in 5 years. Maniskas ran a 4.4 at Mount Union over the summer; Stevens has blazin speed; McCarty has pure breakaway speed and their are several others who can run. Speed will be equal.

Northland Vikings

• Coach: Kevin Tooson (year at school: 10th; career record: 43-49)

• Last year: 4-6, 4-3 (fourth in division)

• Top players: DL Azariah Turner (6-2, 256, sr.); LB Ron Gaston (5-8, 175, sr.); LB Anthony Alexander (5-10, 145, sr.); OL-DL Trivon Coles (5-9, 201, sr.); DB Robbie Darnell (5-6, 155, sr.).

• The goods: Northland has good size and some of the best participation numbers in the city. Turner and Gaston made second-team all-City last season.

Copied from the Columbus Dispatch. History is that Colunbus city Leauge schhols alway give the chiefs trouble, that being said this will be a close game and mistakes will decide the game

Ummm not sure why you put "copied from the columbus dispatch" I never claimed it was mine. I just thought the info would help clueless people like yourself actually get CORRECT information for once.

Are you drunk? At what point did I invite you anywhere?? At what point did I claim that the info I posted was anything other than from the Dispatch web page? You're the tool that started a thread to *itch about black socks. You're the same tool who said "Let's be clear! If Logan fails to break even, then we must have some major changes within the program. It all starts with the head coach!" or have complained about the way the uniforms look in another thread. You even said Logan would go 5-5 if they stayed healthy; but you were so out of the loop that you didnt know kids had quit the team. HUH?!? Everyone knows kids had quit the team. Stop getting "your info" second or third hand and maybe, I dont know; actually go to a game and decide then. Stop posting false information or scouting reports about teams you know nothing about (hence the info from the Dispatch). Stop bitching about socks or worry about what Steve Coate did 30 yrs ago, and maybe show a little support for the staff that has been in place for the past 20 yrs, or the HOMETOWN NEWSPAPER and the kids playing now and the school you came from. 85% of the posts on these threads from the same 7 people are about info thats wrong, or truths that are stretched or scouting reports that are clueless or just complaining over dumb crap. Go to a game, speak to a coach, have the stones to call the LDN, or just shut up about things you know nothing about. If not, ill be around to call you out on it. Take care!

A person who attended this past Friday at Circleville relayed that the Chiefs are strong up the middle but very slow outside and needs improvment in the pass defense!

Another doozy from LHS72. Slow on the outside??? #11, #8, #38 are some of the fastest kids Logan has ever had ON THE OUTSIDE. Thanks for proving my points.

Northland isn't supposed to be very good this year. I'd expect a typical City League team. Turn-overs and lots of penalties. Chiefs should win this one. While I expected Lancaster to win, score was much too lopsided. Improvement usually comes in game #2. Get a win because Newark is awful this year.

Do not know much about Northland, but I believe Logan will refocus and work hard in practice this week. The defense looked okay, tough in the middle need to work on those outside run plays and consistant good tackling, some plays they gang tackled and wrapped up very well, other plays they were just throwing arm tackles. Hard work in practice by both offense and defense and Logan comes away with the W this week. Prediction Logan 24 Northland 7

Containment has been a huge problem for the defense the 2 times I have seen them this year, seems like every time Lancaster went out side they got at Least 8 yards or more, one play an option pitch I counted 5 defenders on the same side of the field and none of them could get to the sideline quick enough to stop him from turning up the sideline for a big a gain, that has to stop, the middle part was pretty stingy for the most part but still too many missed tackles. As for the offense no one can complain they pass too much so far this year,McCarty has had plenty touches just need to keep plugging away let the cards fall,Pretty confident that was the best they will see this year.

Like I said We will compete better against Northland and a win is very possible! Monday at school we should be able to check the young mens minds and see if the beatdown is still in there heads. After reviewing what I saw Friday night we must tighten up our defense on the outsides and backfield. If Northland scouted us they will run to the outsides all night. If we can stop them look for logan to win 20 - 14 Looks like it might be a wet night.

I have been reading here for about 5 years now. I played on the '63 & '64 teams. It is so easy to support a team that is winning...It so hard to support a team that is struggling. Back in the day, we had great support and a huge following regardless of the wins or losses. I am sorry to see that has changed. Shame on all you fair weather fans. You must be new to Logan. Folks that have lived in Logan all their lives aren't like that, are you?

Logan had a ton of fans in the stands Friday night.
Back in the 60s we didn't have computers to have the non-supporters show up.
I might be one to get down on them but I have gone to and supported the Chief from the 50s and always will.

your absolutely right about supporting winning and losing teams...because of some certain circumstances I try to go to a home game if I'm in town but it also doesn't help when the tickets are six bucks which is ridiculous....high ticket price (at least for a high school game) plus a team that isn't winning on a consistent basis isn't the best combination.

I don't know if the tickets at Logan are higher than other places or not. I do know so places charge to park and with their game ticket it is more. I do know that Logan track tickets are cheaper than most places that I go to.
