I see this as a pretty good match up and a important match up. which ever team that loses this game needs to rebound quickly or they could get off to a really slow start.
Depth: i give advantage to athens. had killer numbers out last year a lot of kids got playing time as a group.
team speed: advantage athens but not as much as you would think
size: advantage athens gallia just not that big this year.
physical play: gallia even though they are smaller they play hard and fast and very physical
offensive: toss up. for the first time in a while if gallia falls behind they have a team capable from playing from behind without getting out of their element. also this team seems to be able to make adjustments
defense: gallia it is still a work in progress but have shown to be able to make adjustments on the fly compared to past years.

I think Gallia will be able to put up at least 20 points about every single week. That means to me they will be in every game. i think if both teams are ready to go out of gate this game will be very close. maybe 27-24 gallia or 24-21 athens. I will be excited to see it unfold.

to me this is a playoff game. The winner of this game this season has a great shot at making post season. the loser will probably have to scramble to get in.

Gallia has not seen an offense ran like this, the pressure and the speed of attack will continue to create opportunities. Gallia only chance is to be proficient and to play keep away. Athens is young and way more talented than you think. New OC has a legitimate plan and will be aggressive but patient.

Well, then I will have to say good luck to my Devils from down here in Florida. I can't have you sending all of the good vibes from the state only to Athens.

Trimble put little pressure on the Athens QB , and their defense looked like they didn't know their assignments . Devils D should be ready for Athens spread O . Will see how Athens handles our inside push. Pick devils by 7

Since Jackson plays on Saturday, I'll be headed to Athens to watch this game. Really looking forward to seeing both teams. I watched GAHS at Meigs, but it'll be nice to see them in a real game situation.

Last year's game between these two teams was great to watch. I'm hoping for something similar this time around also.

I don't think this will be a very close game. I'm taking Athens by 2 TDs.

athens lost skinner, sharp and several good athletes, gallipolis plays hard and the kids are inshape. i think this says a lot more about where athens is than gallipols right now because they are so young and have tons of room to improve.

neither team has the overwhelming athletic advantage if one does it's athens so not a lot of points scored!

In fact, I'm being made fun of already by the everyone down here for wanting to skip out on a 'friday night on the town' ...
