New stadium and new coach for the Mauraders, this series has always had high point totals and been a very good series for both schools, just wish it was closer for both schools.

if they don't get decent qb play this one will be over at the half,i think Cg is prob just like gallipolis you better stop the run.

Come on Marauders. This will be close. Too close to call I think. I do like the former NFLer in his coaching debut.

Grove run game should be enough for this one. Pass game will be there when we need it, time for someone to step up and fill that spot. Just wonder if we have any boys that are ready to do the work to pick up slack left by Steele.

By the way, hoping Steele gets better and can enjoy the rest of his senior year.

I know it is the first game of the season but there has to be some comments about this game. How is Meigs doing with first year head coach? What activities are being planned at the stadium on Friday night for stadium dedication?

The Grove spoils the evening for Meigs and the opening of the new stadium.

I am going to have to pick Meigs in this one. I read on facebook where Meigs had 26 players and an assistant coach recieve salvation last weekend. That is amazing, and I thank God for Coaches like Mike Bartrum and his staff for worrying more about the persons eternal security.

I will have to give a prediction of Coal Grove 22 Meigs 14.

You can't replace all the produciton you lost with the injury of your best receiver but you can replace enough of it to keep defenses honest. I think the Grove will be able to throw the ball well enough to keep Meigs defense honest to the pass which will allow for a better running game.

Don't know, I do know he is able to walk from the school to freeze-ette every morning to get breakfast. He is putting some weight down on his leg when he walks but not that much.

After seeing CG in a scrimmage.. I think they will be tough for Meigs to beat. This will be a great test for the Marauders. CG is quick, big, and has an excellent qb. One thing in Meigs' favor...never underestimate a team opening a new stadium. Back in 2000, VC was flat terrible, but still won their stadium opener. Represent the TVC Meigs!

Coal Grove won it 24-8 in a game closer than it sounds. Meigs seemed to be knocking at the goal line all night just couldn't get it in. But give Coal Grove credit, they got it done when they needed it. Good luck to both teams going forward.

Coal Grove just controlled the clock too much. Good effort Marauders. I think they will be just fine this year.

I watched Meigs against Gallia, thought they would be up and down, they are really young at skilled positions, pretty nice team over all.

It is late, will talk more about his game in the morning, but can someone from Meigs give an update about the boy that was taken off the field tonight, hate to see that type of thing during a game. Hope he is okay.

Good win for CG. Their run blocking needs to improve. Their line is very weak but big and can get in your way. I think Meigs will win some games this season too. We really missed Steele, and bare will struggle without him, unless someone else steps up. All in all, it was a good win for CG!! Congrats Boys!!
