Oak Hill may never have the caliber of players they had 2-3 years ago, but you're talking about a school who has only had 6 losing seasons since 1980.

Oak Hill has had 6 losing Seasons since 2001. Must have been on a good run for a while before that to have had no losing seasons from 1980 to 2001.

2002-3-7, 2003 4-6, 2004 3-7, 2005 0-10, 2006 3-7, 2011 2-8, and then 1983 3-7. Okay, so seven losing seasons since 1980. I was off by one season. Please elaborate on Symmes Valley's illustrious records since 1980 or prior. Or, how about their conference record when they were in the Ohio Valley Conference? By the way, Oak Hill holds a 28/28-9 win/loss record all time record against Symmes Valley.

After seeing Oak Hill Last year yes they may not be losing much but im not sure they had much to lose. They weren't very talented and their best player Is now playing D-1 College Football and they don't have another player of that talent. Now I have no clue what the new staff at O.H. has implemented but going out on a limb I may be wrong but Oak Hill may complete their 8th losing season since 80. Peake by alot.

Symmes Valley has a very solid program. Much better than Oak Hill's in the past 10 years IMO. Sure Oak Hill caught lightning in a bottle in not only football, but basketball too with their very talented senior class a couple seasons ago. I am not bashing Oak Hill or taking anything away from them. Back in my day in the early to mid 90's Oak Hill had pretty good teams year in and year out. But they have had their ups and downs the last 10 years just like most programs. SV is consistently making the playoffs every year.

But none of those stats above have any bearing on this year. I see Oak Hill being down for a while and it will be up to the new coaching staff to implement a winning tradition. That takes time and talent. They have the time, but I dont see a tremendous amount of talent there right now.

I think that Oak Hill had a program that improved steadly from 2006 to 2010. Every year the wins increased and the kids got stronger and better. You had a coach who worked his *** off and implimented a program that did more for the kids than just was done out on the field. If not for him getting the opportunity to coach in one of the premier leagues in the state, one that has produced state champions and state runner ups consistently he might still be there. At Oak Hill the weight room program increased the strength of the kids successfully, the football boosters groups provided meals and financial support to give the kids the extras they normally would not have. The practices and conditioning were highly organized and the team was sound in fundamentals. The lower levels ran the same offense and defense. So I think you had a football PROGRAM going on there that improved steadly every year.Contrary to the opinion of a lot of fans you just dont take a talented bunch of kids and throw them out there, You just dont roll out the ball and draw up plays.Just like Minford the staff worked hard and the ground work was set for the kids to have success. Yes they were talented and they were great kids and leaders but the opportunity for them to play like they did came from the program that was organized. Look at your beloved Minford and their season last year , you have a hard working coach and staff and YOU HAD A DOWN YEAR. in 2009 and 2010 you had talented classes just like Oak Hill did and you experienced good seasons.

Oak Hill beat Symmes Valley every year from 2006 up until last year. They did it when they were 3-7 and 5-5 and there was no lightning in a bottle. argue apples and oranges about Oak Hill being D5 but Symmes has not faced the competition that Oak Hill has had to face over the last 10 years during the regular season. Heard the Oaks were heading in the right direction by the results of the Fairland scrimmage Coach Dugan gets any kind of defense going and some people are going to be UNPLEASANTLY surprised.

that is true but how many were not winning seasons? how many of those seasons were 5-5 i think i remembered someone figuring up oak hill's winning percentage on here and it was a dead .500
while imho never close to a football power they always scheduled a bunch of really smaller schools, they were in the league with chesapeake, south point, fairland, coal grove, and rock hill. why did they leave that league? most of those schools are close to O H in size.

chesapeake 21 oak hill 6

Chesapeake linebacker/fullback Chad Meadows broke his leg last night. Led the team in tackles last year as a sophomore. Huge loss for the Peake.

Oak Hill has 160 boys . They play Chesapeake 187 boys, Rock Hill 170 boys, Wellston 188, Minford 187, Ironton 174 and Symmes Valley though smaller in size has always had a program where Oak Hill has not. JUST LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE So Oak Hill is at a disadvantage there. :) BEING SARCASTIC THERE. They are not ducking anyone. Last night heard from a good source the Oak Hill first team defense held Adena to negative 28 yards rushing. KEEP IT UP OAKS!

I was completely wrong on this game.

Great win for the Oaks. Looks like Vorheese was right. Oak Hill's defense must have been very good tonight from the total yardage they held Peake to.

Keep taking the Oaks lightly. The kids will play better with a chip on their shoulder and something to prove. Ill say it again some people are going to be unpleasantly surprised with this defense. Good Job Oaks from your fan up North. Keep swarming and smacking them in the mouth.

Hnmmm...Pregame predictions Chessie by three touchdowns and no one is surprised when the score is reversed, I like the attitude of not giving the Oaks any credit for anything. It will just keep them motivated and hungry to prove something. So all you experts keep talking about how its going to be a walk over everytime someone plays them, having a chip on the shoulder really helps get the kids ready to play .
