In the playoffs anything can happen, I believe the Vikings need to come out and play like they have nothing to lose because really they don't

4 hours? Seems weird to have a district that big. Won't be able to go that far but Good Luck to the Vikings!

osu,

I thought the same thing. I am not sure how they assign the regions though.

And I just noticed that Portsmouth ND and Sciotoville are in a different region then SV. Here is a link with a map of the state for each Division. Each shows how the four regions in each division are sectioned off. http://www.ohsaa.org/sports/ft/boys/2009/RegMaps.pdf

Just some doggone bad luck for the Vikings. I thought they could beat GCC or Rosecrans, but this is the worst team they could play from this region.
Hopefully they pull off the shocker, but it would be just that - a shocker.

Go Symmes Valley!

Symmes Valley is the most southern team in region 23 with South Gallia being second.

Good luck Vikings, bring the victory back to southern Ohio!

GO VIKINGS!

Everyone out in the Valley needs all the support they can get this week. I am sure that ALL involved will be putting in the time and effort that is needed to put themselves in the best possible position to bring home a victory for the school.
Stay focused, work hard, pay attention to detail and NEVER GIVE up. I seriously think that if SV get's by this first round game, they have have a very good shot at winning the region.

SV000000, nice post! I know everyone worked very hard this season to be in the postion they are in. Now, everyone needs to get behind them.

This should be us instead of Symmes Valley, but I am rooting for you anyway. Hopefully you can win one for this part of the state.

How much do you know about Malvern Paladin? What type of offense do they run? What is their base defense?

I love the SOC 1 and SOC 2 conference and the support they show for each other when it comes to playoff time. They'll fight each other to the end when the season and game is on, but get behind everyone when the playoffs come. That is just the way it should be too.
Good luck to the Oaks as well.

Hasn't Paladin been wrong before on Symmes Valley in the plays?

YES

How do the two teams match up up front? I know that Malvern runs a form of the spread but what defense do they run.

Lets go Vikings you are a great bunch of kids from the freshman up to the seniors I have had the pleasure to watch these young men from the time my oldest was in the 3rd grade. I do not recall missing a game you have played. If there was ever a closer group of Vikings I do not remember them. Kyle run them over, boomer sack them many times, Billy,Cory,Jordan and Nick don't stop driving, Drew and Hunter shut down the ends, Justin,Tyler,Evan,Jacob hit the holes hard, Cody lead, guide and direct this team you can go far. And last but not least Garrett and Grant listen to your mother! Seniors I am not ready for B-DUBS yet, lets win a few more!!!!!

They could use a little help from the "Waterloo Wonders" in this one and since they won't have that help: Malvern 28 Symmes Valley 14. :(

I use to go watch Malvern a lot on Saturday afternoon before they had lights at their stadium.

I have also watched them play at Newcomerstown a time or two.

Though it's been a while since I have been there I still try and follow their league and even made a trip to watch Strasburg this season.

My friend said this is one of the better teams Malvern has had maybe better than they were last season.

I think they win big.
