Should be a great game between two teams that used to meet every year in OVC play.

These two were charter members of the OVC and played each other every year from 1954 to 1984. Oak Hill left the OVC after the 1984 season.
Coal Grove leads the all-time series, 23-12-3 (Average score: Coal Grove 18, Oak Hill 12). This will be the first time the two schools have met since 1993.

Coach Dave Lucas is 13-2-0 (.867 win pct.) all-time against Oak Hill, I believe.

Very interesting matchup, this could be a very close game coming down to the last play

I believe if Coal Grove plays their A game that they make it past Oak hill this week...

I will go another step further...if the Grove makes it past this week...I feel that they will win their region...

The only weakness Coal Grove has had this season has been their Defense...and it looks like they are starting to get it together there...If they play good D...it could be a long night for Oak Hill...

According to Joe Eitels complete and final standings...Coal Grove and Ridgewood were dead even...what determines who was 6 or 7 seed?

Ridgewood is 6 because they were undefeated. Coal Grove has one loss. I feel that Oak Hill will go deep in the playoffs. Coal Grove will give them a game, but The Oaks will win at their home field.

Coal Grove's offense shouldn't have a problem scoring points. If the CG secondary doesn't step up, then Sloan will throw all over the D. I think if CG brings their A game on both sides of the ball and play smart (no stupid penalties) they can definitely win this game!

Well D is a pretty important part to football

I like the Oaks in this one

Oak Hill-21
Coal Grove-7

This game in my opinion comes down to CG's D line and OH's linebackers. If CG cant get alot of pressure on Slone he will throw all over the field. CG has been a bit suspect to the pass but seems to have tightened up their D toward the end of the season.
OH's linebackers have to control the CG running game and force them to do things they arent comfortable with.

In the end I think OH's line may be too good and they may squeek by CG. This is definitely an interesting matchup.

I take my Oaks in this one in a close one by a touchdown. Can't wait to see how packed Davis Stadium is going to be!

I won't able to attend this one. I'll be in Virginia visiting relatives. Is there any way I'd be able to get a DVD copy of the game?

If Coal Grove's defense is the question mark for the Hornets then the best they could hope for is a track meet because the Oaks offense is very tough. The Oaks defense is very good also.

I hope the Hornet fans do not over run the Swamp since I will have to go past there to get to the game.

I will have to take the Oaks in this one.

I'll be pulling for Oak Hill, but don't think it is going to be a push over. If CG can take the dall and drive 8-10 plays and score keep the Oak Hill offense on the field playing defense.Tey can pull this out.I expect a close 1st half and possible a 6 point game.

Oaks be ready to play the most physical game you have played all year!

Oak Hill has the best passing game in the area, and the best running back in the area in Westen Hale. I have Oak Hill winning by 14.

Coal Grove 2009 ppg 38.6

Oak Hill 2009 ppg 38.9

It will be a close game, it will all be on which defense bends and which one breaks, both of these teams are going to score points, it will be which defense gets the most stops.

Coal Grove 2009 points allowed 18.7

Oak Hill 2009 points allowed 6.3

Defense will be key in this game,,,one more stat here

Coal Grove's combined schedule win percentage 42-58 .420

Oak Hill's combined schedule win percentage 44-56 .440

Everything is showing that this game will be a close one,,,,can't wait for Friday to get here.

Coal Grove gets past Oak Hill in a shootout. The Hornets offense will be to much for the Oaks in this one. I say Coal Grove wins this 28-21 on a touchdown late in the game.

If Coal Grove can run a three-man defensive line and get pressure on Sloan like they did against Fairland, it would be a big plus for the Hornets. The DBs will be outmatched size-wise.
I haven't seen Oak Hill play this year, but last year they struck me as more of a finess team. Sloan can throw a beautiful ball, though.
