Tough season for Belpre.
Basketball should do much better, if the prime players can keep their grades up.
Hope they lose the first game, then win the next twenty.

Final game ever for Belpre in the TVC OHIO. Last chance to pull off a league win and a win on the season.

Good luck to Belpre in their last TVC-O game...Meigs obviously has the better team but im hopin Belpre can pull it out!!! Also--Good luck in the TVC Hocking division next year and beyond!! Im sure with only one non league game, the VC Belpre matchup is history. . but heres to hoping the basketball matchup will live on! Good luck Eagles.

Playoffs points coming Coal Grove and Nelsonville-York's way.

Meigs wins. They're the best 5-5 team around these parts.

Neither team has played a lick of good defense this year. That being said, this one should be a scorefest, and alot of fun to watch. Belpre's had a really tough year, and it is not any easier this week. Good luck to both teams this week.

hard to believe, but week 10 is here already. seems like we just opened the season a couple of weeks ago. i know it's been a tough, frustrating season but work hard this week guys. go out and take the fight to the marauders friday night. last game for you seniors, leave everything on the field. end your hs careers with a win. for you juniors, you inherit the leadership role starting saturday. push yourselves and your teammates this winter, next spring and summer. get in the weightroom! for the sophs and frosh, stay positive, work hard, lift often. you will play an important role next year. some of you will start, others will compete for starting jobs. strong competition for every position is the goal. get in the weightroom! better days are ahead!

go eagles!

Marauders by more than a few

On a side note...Jacob Well is very close to breaking the career passing yardage record for Meigs high school...can definitly be accomplished against Belpre

it is really sad that no eagles boosters are on here in support of the fighting eagles. belpre, you want to look and wonder what happened? well here it is. you guys are 1 year away from making the play-offs and not 1 of you, parents, students, boosters, has ANY HOPE. i remember 2 years ago a meigs team that was good but not great went into belpre the league champ and opened a big can. our kids didn't quit and neither did our fans. come on belpre get fired up about your kids.

We are still here and still sitting in the rain and fog on Friday nights waiting for the Eagles to notch that 1st win and hopefully it will be this Friday against a good Meigs team. The boys continue to play hard and just might pull off the unexpected. We remember 2 years ago when you all gave us an "English" lesson in football and we want to repay the favor this year so don't think we have given up just because we don't get on here and express ourselves. The kids know that we support them and haven't given up on them.We will be there and ready on Friday night.Best of luck to both teams and lets hope for a good, injury free game.

I guess this wasn't enough support for the team for some, along with not having a boy on the team, I am still there rooting the team on and have been since the early '70s, win or lose.

Some folks think that talking smack on an internet site when they aren't playing is a way to support their team.

As always...

LETS GO EAGLES!!!

mr b and eagle pawpaw i was not getting on anyone. i am just a big fan of kids. if you have read my posts i do sometimes get things going but rarely direct anything to the kids. yes i did play no i am not a kid although my son was on meigs this year and my other son did play when he was in school.
what bothers me is when we as parents get our kids to dedicate most of summer and fall to a sport and we can't seem to work it into our schedules to even go and watch. it irritates me when we preach loyalty and perseverence and then don't have any. my feelings are go meigs but more important show community spirit by doing your best. i bothers me when meigs goes to some field and more of us are there than them. the kids on the field have paid for your attendence and your support pay up. 2 bloggers is not enough

Just an update: Meigs QB Jacob Well is within 50 yards of setting the career passing yards at Meigs...Keep in mind, he has only been the starting QB for 2 years (he was a reciever the previous 2 years)...the previous record was set by a 3 year starter with many more attempts that Well
He is a special player and Meigs should be very proud to have him taking the snaps!!

Agreed but he does get to throw a lot more passes than some of the qb's of the past did. For decades Meigs was a running team first with good defense and passing in situations when needed and here lately it's been backyard football like when you're a kid playing with your buddies and whichever team can score last wins in many of their games as defense has been pretty much non-existent.

Good luck to the Meigs Seniors tonight as you take the field for your last football game. The season started off a little rough but you lead the team to a season we can not be ashamed of. Take the field with Marauder Pride and show them what its all about!

Hope you're right gpgm6566,but we will really be shorthanded tonight.Watkins and Ullman both out,Rashawn out because he was out of school all week with the flu.Doctor released him today but AD says he can't play.Heard Tyler Martin is in hospital..So it looks like our younger players will have to step up and pull out the win.Lets go young Eagles, make gpgm6566 a prophet tonight.GO EAGLES!!!
