I put this on the thread for next week, I really hope there is more to that offense, because a team like Coldwater who you would probably meet in the state semis would eat your runners up, and be able to defend the pass while doing it, just an observation from what I saw tonight.

Are you kidding me? Coldwater? State Semis? Thanks for the info. I'll start worrying about! They have two win two more games that we would have to win first! Maybe that is what happened to Coal Grove tonight. They were worried about beating Coldwater. They should have worried about beating Oak Hill because that was not a very good performance. Not trying to degrade the team, but I have to think that they played better throughout the year than that.

A poor offensive performance without their starting quarterback, I will admit that part, but all I am saying is Oak Hill's offense is typical for the rest of the state so whoever it is will be ready for it, Ridgewood will be ready for it next week, it's typical passing offense that the rest of the state uses, southern Ohio is mainly a running game, so Oak Hill's offense is something special and hard to defend, but the rest of the state uses a lot of spread so defenses are acustom to seeing it, you will see more cover 2 and probably nickel defense starting next week, I used Coldwater as an example of the rest of the state.

Let them play nickel and watch Hale impress you next week. Im not predicting an OH win just that they will be ready to play.

2trap - 4ever,

You need to do yourself a favor and just quit posting at this point. Greenup County was 3-7 in KY if there RB was that good they would have more wins. I don't think anyone is saying that Hale is Jermon Jackson or anything like that but he does run very hard and has some physicality to him. I also don't see any Oak fans on here saying they would beat or even compete with Coldwater. Their focus I'm sure is on a very good Ridgewood team. What do the Hornets know about northern football anyway what have they ever done? I do think IMO that your coach, Lucas is way overated. I watched him do little with a lot of talent at Wellston in the early 00's. He never won a big game there (Waverly, Jackson). Good luck Oaks in week 12!!

I really do believe the x-factor is Lucas, you can say all you want about how good Oak Hills season was, but he season is over and now we are looking at a bigger prize and Lucas has been there, playoff experience matters, if the game is close in the 4th then thats when that experience takes over.

Thought Coal Gove was outcoached big time. No adjustments at all. Didn't look like"Little Lucas" tried anything different all night long. How about making an adjustment to the jet sweep. Oak Hill killed Coal Grove on this play.

Greenup was 3-7 without a passing game, and read most of these post from the begininng of the week, Oak Hill fans on here wanting Hale to be placed at the top of the list of best running backs in southern Ohio, I have given my honest opinion and some people on here don't like that, it's my opinion and I live in a country where I am allowed to state it. I could be on here giving excuses as to why we got beat(and trust me I don't even want to start that rant about our team) but I am not, I want to root for Oak Hill next week and on through the playoffs but the rudness of the fans on here and at the stadium tonight makes it hard for me to do that.

What an awesome atmosphere at Davis Satdium tonight!

Playoff time is put up or shut up time...CG never got it done tonight...no excuses. CG's backs (Oakey and #20) are very good backs, but OH's defense was up to the task, CG couldn't stop the run or the pass and Phillips and his staff out coached Lucas and his staff. Good luck to Oak Hill in week #12!

I hope the CG quarterback is OK. I heard that he may have broken his hand??? Best wishes to that young man for a speedy recovery whatever the situation.

2trap,

Point taken I haven't read all posts and didn't go to game. Just got on here to see how game went. Sorry you had a bad experience at the game. I try to root for all SEO teams as they get deeper into tourny play in sports as I'm neither a fan of the Hornets or Oaks but will follow and pull for the Oaks (as I would CG if they had won) as they start playing teams out of the area!

Rudeness? No one has been rude to you. Unless you are just very sensitive. You didn't seem really sensitive before the game when you were posting on here.
You came on here looking for an argument. You did not come on here to congratulate Oak Hill. You came on here to pick an argument with fans who are very proud of their kids.

I would like to know why you lost? I thought it was because Oak Hill was a better team tonight. I would like to hear your opinion on your own team and why they lost tonight. I have already heard your opinion on the Oaks offense, their team and their running back. Give us some insight.

Heres the deal 2trap, instead of coming on here and saying, "it could have been different if a couple of things went our way" or "too many missed tackles to win", you come on here and say that Hale doesn't impress you and OH passing attack didn't impress you. well you got beat 42-14 and it could have been worse so I don't know what it would take to impress you.

Your posts all just sound like sour grapes. I think the CG kids played hard and never quit, my hats off to them.

Nice post. he was looking for an argument. Not once did he compliment Oak Hill. Just wanted to tell us how wrong we were about one of ours. Sour grapes indeed.

I also want to compliment Coal Grove. Their kids never quit, and I thought both teams played with class tonight (I don't count the 2 personal foul penalties...those things happen sometime). Saw lots of kids helping each other up off the ground.

After watching this game...I came away thinking Oak hill is for real...they have a nice line...a good back and a really good quarterback...they can compete...

Coal Grove..really gave a heck of an effort...there were a couple of plays that really made a difference..actually quite a few mistakes...but sometime that happens...and it's really tough without having the starting quarterback on the field...I hope he gets alright...I thought the boys really showed a great effort...Oak hill just was really for real...keep your heads up...Oak hill was good

Good Luck Oak Hill...You have what it takes..just finish...would love to see you and Ironton both at the championship...with the trophy...

I believe if you all keep playing like you did tonight...you will receive many compliments from Ironton...I went to Clear Creak last week and they wouldn't compete with the Oak Hill team I saw tonight....it would be just as ugly...nice job...keep going...I wish Coal Grove could have gone further...but Oak Hill is very good....Wish they would have played a better regular season schedule...I think they would be even better...

Ok Mr. 2trap 4ever. First off I want to say you need to check your grammar and spelling, absolutely dreadful. Next I want to ask you where in the world you get off thinking you know everything there is to know about football, which begs the question, did you ever play? Anyone that watches Westen Hale run can see that he is very aggressive, has size and is absolutely one of the best backs in the area. In addition Jesse Slone is a heck of a quarterback. I'm pretty sure he went to a maxpreps combine in Oklahoma and got MVP for the quarterbacks his age. To say that an offense if "so so", or "ho hum" after they put up 42 points in a beat down, sounds like jealousy. Maybe if you had a Westen Hale or a Jesse Slone you would have put up a better fight tonight. But then again I think I'm doing the good people of Coal Grove a disservice by associating you with their team. No what you are in this thread is a loner. You obviously are one of those uneducated fans who probably sit at home and get their "knowledge" from ESPN. You don't have an eye for talent and cannot be a good sport and give Oak Hill some R-E-S-P-E-C-T. I think Coal Grove had half as many penalties as Oak Hill and still lost. Basically Oak Hill executed their "average" offense and just outplayed a good Hornet team tonight.

I think it is hilarious when a person gets on here and comments on someone's poor grammar and, in turn, makes errors himself.

Your sentences should have read:
1.To say that an offense if "so so", or "ho hum" after it put up 42 points in a beat down, sounds like jealousy.
2. "You obviously are one of those uneducated fans who probably sits at home and gets his knowledge from ESPN."
3. "Basically, Oak Hill executed its "average" offense and just outplayed a good Hornet team tonight."

Noun-pronoun antecedent agreement is covered in most high school english classes and in remedial writing courses in college.

However, I do agree with a lot of the other things you are saying. Oak Hill is better than what a lot of people think.

After watching the game tonight I can honestly say that the Slone to Ondera connection is one of the best HS passing attacks I've seen in a long time. I think if you get a corner or DB on Kyle and try to shut him down you might have a slim outside chance of beating the Oaks. I'd like to see the RB run a little harder between the tackles and shed tacklers a little better but other than that I came away very very impressed with the Oaks' performance. Congrats boys, you will definitely be a tough team to put out in the playoffs.

Congratulations Oaks. You played your first playoff game and won!
Don't get over hyped for next week.
You play like you prepare, have a good week of practice.
Its more mental than physical, keep your head on straight.

Kyle has turned out to be a fine player (especially after playing only 1 year of high school football), but I think the kid that always gets overlooked is the Maynard boy( the other WR). He is a very solid football player. He has great hands and can run pretty well when he has a chance out of the backfield.

I think Westen's style of running fits this team perfectly. He is very patience when he gets the ball. He lets the blocks happen before taking off. I thought he ran very well last night. He has very shifty style of running.

Good luck to the Burg. These kids have had a lot of battles on the hardwood. It would be awful nice if both of us could find ways to win next week and have one on the turf.

Nice job Oaks. I didnt believe the score would have been like it was. Hope the Burg can keep winning. An SOC regional champ contest would be way cool! Burg has a very hard contest next week, but maybe.....

Sure would be a nice match-up at tanks stadium...Bob Lutz field...about equal travel time....

awsome player surrounded by some great backs, recievers, and line i think it will be hard to stop that offence
and the coaching staff is great. good luck to tigers tonight good luck to the oaks next week
